"Do you remember when we thought the world was going to end?"

Doug expelled a breath, the side of your face sinking further against his chest. For a moment, his heartbeat stilled just before his lungs filled back up and his heart went back to work.

It was just the two of you, sitting on the edge of the world while your feet dangled above the people going about their lives below. The sun was stalling— its rays inking the sky in pink and purple—not quite ready to say goodbye for the day.

"I remember it like it was yesterday," Doug said after a beat of silence. You didn't have to look up at him to know the corners of his mouth were tilted upwards in a slight smile, but you did anyway.

Briefly peeling away from him, you playfully nudged his rib with a short laugh. He groaned, clearly still injured from the grisly stunts he pulled in Pakistan, but took your playful jab in stride by producing a subtle grin.

You gave him an apologetic look, about to distance between you so he could recover, but he was already pulling you closer to him, as if you were his band-aid that simply needed readjusting.

"It was yesterday," you reminded him before your head fell upon his shoulder for good measure this time. He kept your back steady with his arm, his hand massaging your shoulder gently in between his small, short-lived chuckles.

"Then how can I forget the day I almost lost you?"

Douglas with a really, really clumsy S/O who tries to help out the best they can?

*but he also knows that you want to help him

*so if he gives you a task, he will keep an eye on you

*or have someone else do it if you can’t

*this does bother you quite a bit

*but you know that he’s just doing it because he cares

*considering you have gotten injured several times while helping him

Summary: Douglas faked his death, again, and is staying with and old friend.

AN: This is a new series I came up with and will hopefully post every Monday. Mistakes has gone on hiatus since I haven’t written at all for it and I kinda lost my motivation for it... Hopefully I’ll find it again, I hope you like this new series :)

Douglas had been staying with me for a little while now, since he ‘faked’ his death, again.

“Do you need me to go with you?” I asked as he was about to leave.

“No. I don’t want to involve you into this,” he answered.

“I got involved the minute you showed up at my door,” I retorted. “Now I am going with you since we could get there faster.”

“Alright fine,” he sighed. “Let’s go.”

I smirked and walked over to him, “don’t you just love me?” I took his hand and blended with the light.

It didn’t take us long to get to Donald’s house. “Okay you stay hidden while I go in,” he left before I could argue anything.

As per his request I hid in the shadows but followed him into the lab. He was blown back when I got there and I was about to come out but his words stopped me.

“It’s okay kids, look away,” he covered his eyes and I threw a gust of wind at Krane, knocking him on his feet just as the short guy had slid across to protect Douglas.

“What was that?” the girl asked.

Douglas got up and was about to shoot Krane when Donnie came in followed by a woman and another boy. Douglas looked at them and Krane got away.

Donnie pointed his wrist weapon at Dougie, “Get out of my house.”

“No, Mr. Davenport. Douglas just saved us from Krane,” the one that protected Douglas intervened.

“And if it weren’t for him you wouldn’t need saving from Krane,” he looked back at Douglas. “Get out or I’ll shoot.”

Douglas stared at Donnie but didn’t move. Donald stepped forward a bit, his lips tightening into a thin line and I stepped out of the shadows and stood in front of Doug.

“What the…” I heard someone say.

“Y/N?” Donald looked at me.

I didn’t respond but rather formed a bolt of lighting in my hand. He looked at the bolt with wide eyes before looking back at me.

“What did he do to you?” he sounded sad.

“He didn’t do anything. I was born this way,” I lifted my head a little.

“Y/N you can’t trust him!” Donnie shouted.

“That’s funny coming from the man who stole his children,” I looked to the three from earlier.

“I took them because he wanted to sell them to the highest bidder,” he explained.

“That doesn’t change the fact that they are his children,” I looked back at him. “Now kindly point your little weapon elsewhere.”

“It’s alright,” Douglas placed his hand on my waist. “Let’s go.”

I made the bolt disappear and we became one with the shadows, using them to take us home.

At home

“What are you gonna do now?” I handed Douglas the screw driver he pointed at.

“I don’t know,” he replied. “You trynna get rid of me already?” he looked over at me.

“Why would I ever want to get rid of you,” I winked at him. “It’s just now you don’t have any evil plans going on and I was wondering how you're coping with that.”

“I’ll be fine,” he waved me off.

I sat down next to him, handing him tools when he asked for them.

*Douglas can’t really say much, as he is a bit clumsy himself

*though nothing like you

*he tends to keep a bit of a close eye on you

*he would rather prevent you from getting hurt, that’s all!

*which he’s managed to do so far

*however there have been a few instances where he wasn’t around and was unable to keep an eye on you

*and you ended up getting hurt

*whenever that does happen, though, he is always there to patch up your injuries!

Can I get some headcanons of Signas and Douglas with a human S/O?

I may or may not forgotten that Signas actually had a name, oops

Signas:

*Whenever Signas is not busy, which is pretty rare, he’s spending his free time with you

*He always assures you that he and the Maverick Hunters will create a better world for humans and reploids. You believe him, and you always encourage him!

*He’s probably the more cool and level-headed out of the two of you

*He’s having to calm you down whenever you get upset

*He absolutely loves affection, especially after a long day of missions

*He’ll pick you up or just pull you into a hug, holding you close to him

Douglas:

*Sometimes you have situations where you have to calm each other down

*Douglas, when he’s not busy with working on parts and such for the Maverick Hunters, he’ll make little things for you from time to time

*If he even shows an ounce of worry or any kind of negative emotion, you are right by his side, ready to comfort him

*He never really thought a human, such as you, would love him like you do

*Sometimes you like to watch him work, even help him when he needs it
