Soul, funk

Mill Creek, Washington

Down North are a seven-piece group from Mill Creek that mixes soul, funk, and old-school R&B to evoke long-winded grooves. More recently they added a horns section to round out their sound and focus on releasing EPs with high-caliber material rather than watered-down full-lengths. While Down North are definitely making a name in Seattle by performing at Chop Suey and The Showbox Market, their high-energy antics are going to take them far.
