TRASH CALL, 10/19/2024
My wife has been complaining about all the clutter in our shed and garage. I cannot disagree with her. Many of the "treasures" we have collected over the years have no further value in our lives, and will simply burden our children when we pass on to our great reward --- either the dumpster in the sky, or the fiery pit below. So I have been taking it upon myself to slowly, but surely, empty our boxes at a rate of about one per week. I either take a load to the local resale shops (donate) or literally toss the rest into the trash to become one with the earth at the local landfill. I have eliminated about 8 boxes to date, and the wife has finally noticed. I'll admit it makes me feel better, too. I still can't bring myself to let go of the VHS or CD collections, but the time is coming I may explore my options on FB Marketplace or E-Bay. Meanwhile, my Stunt Double du Jour is enjoying a bout of dumpster diving, seeking treasures wherever he can. Wish us each luck in doing our parts!
