Today's Flickr photo with the most hits is of the east window in the church of St Michael and All the Angels, Downholme, near Richmond, Yorkshire. The glazing is pious Victorian but the quatrefoil details and three lights in which it makes its boast, are 14th CE. The church dates from 1180 in its original incarnation but there are later additions and features which contribute to its uniqueness and charm. Once at the heart of the village, it now sits alone since plague caused the shift of populace to a re-founded village a mile away.
