College Update 19

As the end of the college season approaches, players are putting their best efforts forward to help their teams win games and make the playoffs. This past week, several 2013 Dirt Dawgs put their teams in position to win important games. Matthew Cambria, Nick Filloramo, Dean Sadik and Austin Sistrunk performed very well.  

Cambria threw a complete game shutout on Wednesday, striking out seven and scattering seven hits against Caldwell College to pick up his fifth win of the season.

Filloramo pitched almost as well on Wednesday, going 7 1/3 scoreless innings while allowing only two hits and striking out six against MIT to pick up his fourth win of the season.

Sadik played well on Tuesday, going 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored in a 7-5 loss against Sacred Heart University,

Sistrunk had a strong game on Tuesday, going 2-for-5 with two singles in a 5-4 loss in eleven innings against Belmont University.

These players have turned in strong performances all season, which will help the Dirt Dawgs win some more games this season.

College Update 18

As the college season continues and the standings begin to take shape, players are doing their best and performing well in order to help their teams win games. This past weekend, several 2013 Dirt Dawgs stood out and put their teams in positions to win important games. Tim Corey, John Jennings, Brian Lamboy, Jamill Moquette, Nate Pajka, Alec Paradowski and Austin Sistrunk stood out.

Corey hit .500 over three games, including a game on Saturday where he went 4-for-4 with an RBI Double, RBI Single and 2 runs scored in a 5-4 win against Tufts University.

Jennings hit .400 over two games, including a game on Saturday where he went 2-for-3 with an RBI Triple and an RBI Single in a 9-7 loss against La Salle University.

Lamboy hit .462 over four games, including a game on Friday where he went 2-for-2 with an RBI Single in a 4-1 win against Bryant University.

Moquette hit .429 over two games, including a game on Sunday where he went 2-for-3 with a triple in a 4-3 loss against Keene State in 11 innings.

Pajka hit .583 over three games, including a game on Friday where he went 4-for-4 with 2 doubles and an RBI Single in a 4-3 loss against Trinity College.

Paradowski hit .455 over three games, including a game on Saturday where he went 1-for-4 with a 2 run double in a 15-5 loss against Elon University.

Not to be outdone, Sistrunk went 1-for-3 with a 2 run Homerun in an 8-4 win against Mercer University on Sunday.

Performances like these will have the Dirt Dawgs winning quite a few games this summer.

College Update 16

As the college season continues, players continue to put up impressive numbers and put their teams in positions to win important games as the season moves on. This past weekend, April 12th -14th, several 2013 Dirt Dawgs stood out with incredible performances. Matt Cambria, Marty Dunlap, Brian Lamboy, Jamill Moquette, Alec Paradowski, Josh Raymond, Vincent Sharkey and Kyle Zaorski played very well and put their teams in position to win games.

Cambria pitched well on Saturday, going the distance with a complete game quality start, allowing only 3 runs while striking out 2 in a 6-3 win against the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia for his third win of the season.

Dunlap hit .400 this weekend, including a game on Sunday where he went 2-for-3 with a Double in a 5-1 loss against Bentley University.

Lamboy went 1-for-3 with a Double and a run scored in a 2-1 win against Central Connecticut State University in the first game of a double-header on Sunday.

Moquette went 2-for-3 with two singles and two stolen bases in a 2-0 loss against Eastern Connecticut State University in the first game of a double-header on Saturday.

Paradowski had a great game on Sunday, when he went 2-for-3 with a Homerun, RBI Single and two runs scored in a 5-0 win against Furman University.

Raymond had an unbelievable weekend, hitting .471 with 4 Homers and 9 RBIs over 4 games, including a game on Saturday when he went 4-for-5 with 3 Homeruns and 6 RBIs in a 14-3 win against Cardinal Stritch University in the first game of a double-header.

Sharkey hit .500 over 3 games, including a game on Saturday where he went 2-for-3 with a Double and 4 runs scored in a 13-12 win against Assumption College in the second game of a double-header.

Zaorski turned in a game to remember, pitching a complete game shutout where he scattered 2 hits while striking out 10 for his second win of the season in a 10-0 win in the first game of a double-header on Sunday.

Performances like these will make the 2013 Dirt Dawgs season a very special one.

College Update 15

As the college season continues, several 2013 Dirt Dawgs continue to have strong seasons, helping their teams win games and move up in the standings. From April 8th-11th, Tim Corey, John Jennings, Evan Mackintosh and Josh Raymond put up strong performances and put their teams in a position to win important games as the season goes on.

Corey went 2-for-3 with a walk in a 16-3 loss against the University of Southern Maine on Wednesday.

Jennings and Mackintosh each helped Umass-Amherst to an 11-6 win against Boston College on Wednesday; Jennings went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored while Mackintosh pitched 3 scoreless innings, striking out two while picking up his first win of the season.

Raymond went 2-for-5 with a homerun and a walk in an 11-8 win against Saint Xavier University on Monday.

If these performances are carried over into the FCBL, the Dirt Dawgs can be sure to win plenty of games this summer.

College Update 14

In a baseball packed weekend, several 2013 Dirt Dawgs played well and put their teams in a position to win important games.  From April 5th-7th, Matt Cambria, Tim Corey, Marty Dunlap, Brian Lamboy, Austin Mock, Jamill Moquette, Vincent Sharkey and Jack St. Claire had strong performances.

Cambria pitched 7 1/3 inning of quality baseball, striking out 2 batters while giving up only 3 earned runs  in a 5-4 loss against Nyack College in the first game of a double-header on Saturday.

Corey had a strong game on Saturday, going 2-for-4 with a Homerun and 3 runs scored in a 13-11 loss against Trinity College.

Dunlap had a great weekend at the plate, hitting .385 over 4 games, including a 2-for-4 game with a two run single in an 18-9 win against The University of New Haven in the first game of a double-header on Sunday.

Lamboy had a great game on Sunday, going 3-for-4 with 3 singles and a sac fly in a 19-1 win against Quinnipiac University.

Mock had hits in each of the 4 games played this weekend, including a 1-for-3 game with a two run Homerun in a 4-0 win against Gannon University in the second game of a double-header on Friday.

Moquette went a combined 4-for-9 with an RBI Single, a double and 4 runs scored in 6-2 and 8-2 wins against Rhode Island College on Saturday.

Sharkey had a torrid weekend with 7 hits in 9 at-bats, including the second game of a double-header on Sunday where he went 5-for-6 with 3 RBI singles in a 12-3 win against Merrimack College.

St. Claire hit well in limited action, going 1-for-3 this weekend. He went 1-for-2 with a Homerun in a 23-4 win against Lafayette College in the second game of double-header on Sunday.

Performances like these will help the 2013 Dirt Dawgs improve considerably this summer.

College Update 13

As the college season progresses, players from around the country try to help their teams win crucial games and put up great numbers in the process. From April 1st-4th, several 2013 Dirt Dawgs put up great numbers and put their teams in a position to win. Marty Dunlap, Austin Mock, Jamill Moquette, Nate Pajka, Josh Raymond, Vincent Sharkey and Ryan Yerina performed well this past week.

Dunlap played sparingly this week, going 2-for-4 with an RBI single in a 3-2 win against St. Michael’s College on Thursday.

Mock went 2-for-5 with an RBI single in an 11-3 win against Shippensburg University on Tuesday.

Moquette hit .444 over 2 games, including a 2-for-5 game with an RBI single in an 8-6 loss against Westfield State University on Monday.

Pajka went 2-for-4 with a two-run double and an RBI single in a 5-4 against Endicott College on Thursday.

Raymond had an impressive week, hitting .538 with 3 doubles, 6 RBIs and 6 runs scored, including a combined 6-for-10 with 3 Doubles, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored in 21-0 and 13-3 wins against Holy Cross College on Monday.

Sharkey hit .375 over 2 games this week, including a 2-for-4 game with 3 runs scored in a 16-10 loss against Kutztown University on Wednesday.

Yerina pitched well in relief, going 2 innings while striking out 5 of 7 batters he faced in a 5-4 12 inning win against the University of Bridgeport on Wednesday.

Performances like these in the summer will surely help the 2013 Dirt Dawgs win a lot of games this season.

College Update 12

As the college season continues, players from around the country work hard to help their teams win, putting the team before their individual success. This, however, is not stopping them from having strong seasons and impressing plenty of people. Among these players are several 2013 Dirt Dawgs.                From March 29th -31st, Nick Filloramo, Thomas Fitzpatrick, Brian Lamboy, Jamill Moquette and Vincent Sharkey excelled and helped their teams win crucial games as April begins.

Filloramo went 6 strong innings, striking out 3 while giving up only 2 runs in an 8-3 win against Babson College in the second game of a double-header on Saturday.

Fitzpatrick did even better, throwing seven innings of scoreless baseball while striking out 9 batters and scattering 3 hits for his second win of the season.

Lamboy hit .375 over 3 games, including a 3-for-4 game with a double and 4 runs scored in a 9-7 win against LIU Brooklyn on Saturday.

Moquette went 5-for-9 in two games this past weekend, including a 3-for-4 game with a Homerun, 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored to help his team to an 8-7 win against UMass Dartmouth in the first game of a double-header on Saturday.

Sharkey also hit very well over the weekend, hitting .417 over 3 games, including a 3-for-4 game with an RBI triple against Le Moyne College in the second game of a double-header on Saturday.

Performances like these will help the Dirt Dawgs enjoy a strong 2013 season.

College Update 11

As the college season begins to unfold, many teams have gotten off to strong starts. Players from these teams have set themselves apart by pitching and hitting their teams to victory. This past week, from March 25th-28th, 2013 Dirt Dawgs Brian Lamboy, Vincent Sharkey, Alec Paradowski and Will Stillman performed well and helped their teams win.

Lamboy hit .400 this past week, including a 1-for-3 game with an RBI single in a 2-1 win against LIU Brooklyn on Thursday.

Sharkey hit .500 in 2 games, including a 2-for-3 game with an RBI double and a run scored in a 7-0 win against Dominican College on Tuesday.

Not to be outdone, Wofford College teammates Alec Paradowski and Will Stillman helped their team to a 12-11 win over USC Upstate on Wednesday; Paradowski went 3-for-5 with 2 RBI singles and a run scored while Stillman pitched 1 2/3 innings with 3 strikeouts, earning his first win of the season.

These strong performances will surely help the 2013 Dirt Dawgs have an exciting and successful season.
