Brief Bio: 

Okay, so born in 1832. Victorian England. Family had a lesser title and all the obligations that went with it. Ended up married to an older, horrible sort of man when she was 17. 

Naturally curious, her father encouraged her learning, much to her husband’s dismay. That youthful glow that drew him to her soon faded as the years went on with him and she was unable to bear children. (Through no fault of her own. She was not the one with the issue. Admittedly, she doesn’t know that but I digress.) 

Met Kisuke somewhere along the way and even though it wasn’t keeping with decorum asked him a lot of questions. He did seem to appear in intervening years and always looked the same. That was odd, but maybe he had gotten lucky or something. 

Thirteen years of an unhappy marriage took its toll on her and she was a shell of her younger self. Which was when Kisuke made her an offer that she couldn’t refuse. 

Freedom... and it went to her head for years. She found a rather sick joy in tearing those men down who refused to adapt to the times. So many old, rich, entitled, white men lost their lives at her hand. So much blood. It made her giddy. 

And she couldn’t help being other things she’d never been able to be. Which meant lots of sex with lots of... men. Oh how she learned. 

Then Samuel happened. Drawn to him from the start like a moth to a flame. Met him 1880s Paris... high society... there was banter then things happened and it was soon a whole thing. Se was in way over her head which is why she ended up bolting. The girl had never been in love and wasn’t ready to settle down. She wouldn’t have known that’s what it was at the time, but she knows better now. It is her biggest regret to date. To not see that through and what could’ve happened for them. Broke up with him via pretty penned letter. 

Hoe life started to lose its appeal though in the intervening years. Pair it with the world changing and it simply didn’t work any more. Hoe-ing it up and taking men down didn’t give her the same satisfaction so she turned to her first love:

Learning. Found medicine and science and all of that very interesting and focused on finding out as much as she could. She started seeing humans as more than food, too, but other creatures also deserving of life that should be protected. 

Samuel has been buried deep in the recesses of her mind and very few know about him. Adrienne and Kisuke know his name and more details. Felix has inklings, but few specifics. 

Is a doctor... and a surgeon... a chemist... since she would master one, then go back and get another. She did love surgery, though, with the endurance it required... even with all the modern medical advancements. 

She has her work, and her vampire family, and is fairly content with life.

8 years ago... “You sure you know what you’re doing, kid?” the man asked her, making Nina stop sharpening her switch blade and turning her head to the side to give him a cold, silent stare. “It’s just a question,” he started, almost sounding as if he was defending himself, but she was tired of the constant chit chat. At this point, he was nothing but a white noise machine to her. “You ask too many questions,” she said, reverting her gaze back to the blade and the task at hand, “I’m starting to think we have a problem.” The man slid his hands into his pocket before talking a few steps forward and closing the gap between them. Remaining silent, he took a seat across her and sighed. “I can’t afford anyone on the crew being sloppy. You know what happened last night,” he said, making Nina stop sharpening the blade again. This time, her fingers wrapped around the handle tightly, her knuckles slightly changing colour. She knew what he was trying to say and she did not appreciate the commentary. If anyone on the crew was sloppy, then it would have been one of his lap dogs, but not her. She was way too careful, way too organised. “Don’t take it personally, darling. You’re still a sweet, young thing,” he practically hummed, his hands reaching to move a few strands of her hair, tucking them behind her ear to reveal a blank expression. “There is more than one way for you to prove your skills, you feel me?” She wasn’t even listening anymore. High pitched noise filled her ears, her breathing slowed down and her eyes remained fixed on a random spot just a couple of inches away from her shoes. Nina knew her value. She knew what she brought to the table. And she believed loyalty should be rewarded, not overlooked. Her life has been anything but easy and she worked hard to get to where she was and to create a certain image for herself. But above all else, she worked hard so she could demand respect, not beg for it. It seemed that was a little detail her friend did not pick up on. What a shame. With one swift move, Nina flipped the blade and buried it deep inside the man’s thigh before twisting. He nearly screamed, a ghastly look coming over his face as the colour drained out of it and big drops of sweat started to form on his forehead. His hand that had reached her knee by that point lifted off her and seemingly froze in mid air. “Would this be one of those ways,” she mused, fingers still wrapped around the blade. Whimpers started to fill the air around them as the man’s hands started moving towards the stabbed thigh. “Breathe through your nose,” she prompted him before twisting the blade again, this time causing him to make much more noise. Seems like the shock kept him from reacting the first time around. Good. “I am tired of your bullshit, Greg. Maybe I should be asking you if you know what you’re doing,” her tone was no longer calm, it was tainted with anger. “You fucking bitch,” he practically spat out, meeting her anger with his own. Nina chuckled and then sighed deeply, “See, I really wish you haven’t said that,” she shook her head before pulling the blade out from his thigh and resting the tip of it right against his Adam’s apple. “Your mamma ever told you that’s no way to talk to people?” his eyes darted over from her thigh to her face as he started to shake. She couldn’t tell if that was a response to their interaction or blood loss. “If she didn’t, Ghost certainly should have taught you that. What’s he going to say when he hears about last night?” she tilted her head to the side, her brow slightly raising as she continued to watch Greg sweat. His hands pressed against the stab wound on his thigh, trying to prevent himself from bleeding out right there in the warehouse and his pale lips pressed tightly together at the mention of Ghost’s name. Just as she thought. The guy was all talk, no game. “I’ll slit your pretty throat, Nina”, Greg whispered, “we both know you don’t have the guts to do what it takes. I’ll heal and then you’re fucking done.” What a dumb little boy he was. Making threats after he had been stabbed and while she was still holding a blade to his throat. The anger inside of her now turned into boiling rage. This was the last time he underestimates her. The last time he talks down to her for the failures of himself and others. She was the best damn dealer in that crew and he knew it. Just couldn’t fucking stand someone new coming up and potentially stepping up instead of him. That wasn’t her plan when she joined and it still wasn’t her plan now. She had something else on her mind now. Revenge. She leaned in closer, her nose slightly rubbing against his, “Make sure you keep pressing down on your wounds,” her words came out as a whisper. Anger in his eyes was replaced by confusion and as his lips parted to speak, she slit his throat and watched as he fell over from where he was sat and hit the ground. Gurgling sounds filled the air around her, but she didn’t flinch. She took a moment to watch him shake as one of his hands covered his neck and the other one pressed against his thigh.  Silently, she rose from her seat and bent down to wipe the blood off her blade against his shirt. No way she was putting a bloody blade back in her pocket just like that. She reached for her phone and glanced at the screen to check the time. There wasn’t enough time left to actually get rid of the body before everyone started meeting at the warehouse, but there was enough time for her to leave, grab her stuff and head out. Maybe she wouldn’t face real consequences. Hell, some people would probably think she did the gang a favour. Still, she did not want to roll a dice on that one and she certainly didn’t want to stick around in a place where the next douchebag might treat her the same as the one she just clipped. It was time to leave, but where could she go? Where could she possibly go...

Axel was born in the late 1800s and takes great pride in having witnessed, first hand, the industrial, as well as the technological revelation. Despite his love of life and all the pleasures he’s been allowed, only once did he break his vow not to sire any more vampires. It’s not that he doesn’t enjoy what he is, he simply knows that not just anyone is built for the life style.  

Maladh was a pleasant twist of fate, a city he’s still exploring but that, so far, is all he was promised: filled with sin, excitement and adventure. What more could an old bloke wish for? In it he has found good looking people, of all species; some far more welcoming than others. For the most part, he spends his evening in clubs - some regular, others a bit more spicey. And has always found someone warm and willing to share his bed. If he has a favourite... well, damn.

The male vampire does his best to remain free of the complicated entanglements in which most gangs get involved. Brief Bio: 

Didn’t find out about the whole demon thing until she was about ten years old. Her parents didn’t know. Dad was possessed, got mom pregnant, baby was born and poof. It was a very strange time in their lives but they managed. 

They moved around a lot, so she doesn’t have a firm sort of identity. 

Came here years ago to learn things. Which is how she ended up working at the library. 

Information is power. Information can be found in books so there we go. 

There’s totally a “restricted” section in the library that she guards like a hawk. If you try to get in there without permission, don’t be surprised to find your back on the floor and a foot on your chest in .2 seconds. She will bust out some ninja moves on your ass. 

If anyone gets rowdy or angry around her, she will use those abilities to calm them the fuck down. Otherwise, she doesn’t use them much unless someone is annoying her.
