Charlie burst into the nursery to see his 2 daughters and 1 son for the first time.

Charlie: "Sel ... I'm so sorry, I -"

Selena fell into this arms and wrapped herself around him with as much energy as she could muster.

Selena: "I'm so angry with you right now, but I don't have the energy to be. I don't know where you've been, but please tell me you're here to stay this time."

Charlie: "I'm never leaving again. I'm sorry I was gone so long, and that I wasn't able to reach out. I'll explain everything later, I promise. Right now, let me help calm the babies down and you can go get some rest."

Once upon a time, there was a girl. A beautiful girl with hair of gold who wrote her dreams down in books, never to see the light of day. Dreams that would never come to be. Dreams that helped her cope with her every day life. Her room lacked decoration and her home lacked warmth; all in thanks to her stepmother who had not one nice bone in her body. It had only gotten worse since her father had passed of a heart attack. Now it was just the two of them. The two of them alone, in their cold house, with nothing but Everly’s dreams to keep her company.

He didn't mention he was going anywhere. I'll try calling him.

Straight to voicemail. Maybe he muted his phone after all those annoying calls.

There was finally a small break in the heat wave hitting town, and I was getting restless in the house - so I decided to get some grocery shopping in.

While I was out, Charlie answered a knock on the door and was very rudely greeted by Vera.

Charlie: "What in the world are you doing here?"

Vera: "You won't answer my calls or messages, what else did you expect me to do?"

Charlie: "Not this. I told you, I'm not coming back. That isn't my life anymore."

Vera: "Oh hush child, this isn't about my niece. The board is calling an emergency meeting. The company is chaos since you chose to abandon it. You're needed in the office immediately."

Charlie: "I can't just leave. When Selena gets home, I'll figure out when I can get out there."

Vera: "Unacceptable. No time. I have a ride ready for you. Everyone is waiting on you."

Highchairs, diapers and cribs, oh my! 

Prepping for the arrival of my three little birds. 

I’m still very much anxious about this, and I’m not sure that feeling will go away. But I have no choice but to do the very best I can. 

Before I’m too large to be functional, I picked up a retail job for some extra cash. I’m always tired. If I’m not tired, I’m hungry but then eating makes me tired again.

Times like this I really wish my father were still around.
