Into The Woods || Trishire
The school grounds were empty; it was kind of a strange hour of the day. It wasn’t early and it wasn’t late, but it certainly was unnatural for there to be absolutely no students on the grounds. It was a little weird, but it allowed Trish to go unnoticed into the forest. She pushed her way through underbrush and over small rocks, weaving through the trees in search of a place she’d found in one of her early excursions into the woods. It was a small shaded clearing with a big rock overlooking a tiny pond. It was far enough away from campus that it felt like a completely different world, but close enough that she didn’t have to go too far into the forest. She slipped off her shoes and climbed onto the rock. Laying down she let the sun beat down on her as she slipped into a relaxed state.
She had come out to find some inspiration, she had her camera with her as always – but she saw nothing wrong with taking in some sun first. Eyes closed, she became very aware of the sounds of late spring around her. The trees swaying and leaves rustling in the wind. The soft scent of flowers wafting their welcome. The birds singing in the sun. The water in the pond softly lapping against the rocks. The warm breeze brushing against her skin. Insects flitting through the air. The sound of something being displaced - her eyes snapped open. She didn’t turn her head right away, silently praying that is wasn’t wildlife. Don’t be a bear.
