Wondering what would be the relationship between the chaos council with a reader who's Eggman's S/o back in green hills and somehow ended up at New Yoke with Sonic. I think they'd feel like they've seen you before, as if you're a haunting face who they only recognize, not truly know.
Dr Babble would think of you as a parent, seeking you to hold or play with him. Your touch would soothe him when he's throwing a tantrum, liking the attention you're giving him.
Dr Don't isn't sure how to feel about you. Sure, you've managed to win over the rest of the council with basically no effort, but do you really think you can impress someone as apathetic as him? It does seem like it, because even if he never tells you directly, you notice him stealing glances towards you.
Mr Dr Eggman is probably the one who feels a stronger connection towards you, with him resembling your husband the most after all.. he'd like to know what you do in your free time with this "other him", and he actually listens! He'd try not to make it obvious, but it's clear there's something going on with him every time he sees you.
Dr Deep likes having long conversations about topics he never gets to discuss with you. The other members don't really listen to him, or to each other in general.. so it's certainly nice to have someone who can engage in said discussions! He'd try to impress you with anything he got on his hands, his swords, his mech, his tattoos, literally anything.
Dr Done-it is surprisingly fond of you! Like you're a grandchild he never got to meet, he's gladly reciting stories about his past and how nowadays no one knows how to work—no one except you, of course.
The sun peeked through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the room. Dr. Deep stirred, feeling the comforting weight of your arm draped across his chest. He opened his eyes to find you snuggled close, your face serene and peaceful.
A smile tugged at his lips as he watched you sleep, your steady breathing a soothing rhythm. Slowly, he brushed a strand of hair from your forehead, marvelling at how something so simple could bring him such joy.
You murmured in your sleep, shifting closer and Dr. Deep’s heart swelled with affection. Right in that moment, everything felt perfect.
Cw: AU, Takes place years after the events of Sonic Prime, literally just a concept I have in mind and had to write down.
You remember the day you held your daughter for the first time. You had just spent multiple hours overnight in labor, by the time you were done the sun was already peaking and the sky was painted in orange tones.
You also remember your husband, Dr Ivo Robotnik, known for making anyone, except for Sonic, shiver under his gaze, absolutely freaking out alongside Orbot and Cubot trying to calm him down. From an outside perspective, it wouldn't even look like the same person, from yours? It was simply the side he didn't let others see.
And then she arrived. Tiny, a combination of you and him. You stared at her, a strange sense of relief washing over you. She's here, she's safe, she..
"Looks just like you.." you mumbled, a breathy giggle escaping your mouth. "Nine months inside me making me suffer, and you look like a carbon copy of your father.."
Ivo stood awkwardly beside the bed, searching for signs you were okay. A sudden smile spread across your face. "You're perfect."
That seemed to calm him down.
The memory of meeting your daughter is a pleasant reminder of the past, and of how fast time flies by. Especially seeing her and her dad try to stop the speedy hedgehog once again. You found it silly, how she jumped right into her father's schemes and followed along with them, no matter how bizarre they were.
It made your heart skip a beat, and you weren't quite sure why. Maybe because it reminded you of Ivo's determination? Or maybe because you made her, literally, and it was just maternal instincts. Either way she was having fun riding Sonic's back, that's what matters—hold on. RIDING SONIC'S BACK!?
Seems like she attached herself to his quills while you were zoned out, and that made you panic. "SONIC! DON'T YOU DARE DROP MY DAUGHTER!"
You yelled, clearly worried about the situation, but she would disagree.
"DON'T WORRY MAMA! I'M CAPTURING THE BLUE MENACE!" She screamed back, pulling his quills with her small hands. Sonic flashed his iconic grin to you, securing her tiny legs with his hands before speeding up.
"More like I'm capturing you, kiddo!" His expression shifted the moment he took his eyes off your daughter to notice his surroundings rapidly turning white.
He was gone. And so was your daughter.
Sonic ran right into a wall. A metallic wall. That wasn't good. He looked around, industrialized buildings everywhere, and it confirmed his suspicions. "Oh no. No no no no no."
A child's voice echoed through his ears. "What is this place? Why did you bring us here?" She scanned the area, noticing the posters spread across the walls, the figures imprinted on them reminiscing of her own father.
He glanced back, quickly grabbing her into his arms. "We are not supposed to be here. We've got to get back before-"
"THREAT DETECTED: SONIC THE HEDGEHOG. ORDERS...CAPTURE AND BRING TO THE COUNCIL." A cold robotic voice cut his dialogue, arms reaching towards him, yet his feet moved faster, dashing away from the robot.
"Listen kid, this is.. an alternative universe of sorts, there are people here who look like someone you know and.." He started explaining while dodging attacks from multiple robots now chasing the two, yet the younger girl wasn't paying attention, as her focus was on the machines behind them.
Her eyes analyzed them, their designs were similar to some old blueprints of her father's, but the orange colour.. who approved that. For a moment she was thankful her dad didn't design such eyesores. They ended up being caught by a bigger, baby toy looking robot who appeared by surprise, while Sonic was fighting for his Iife against the grip of the mechanic hand, she judged him, silently, but still did, as he screamed something along the lines of "BAD BABY! BAD!"
"Don't resist, it'll make things worse for us." She spoke in the same tone her father did when he managed to trap the mobian, he just rolled his eyes as they were thrown into a electric cage thing.
It didn't take long for their captures to appear, five figures sitting down on floating chairs. Huh.
They resembled her father, but at the same time they didn't. Her father would never dress that horrendously, or wear a wig that ridiculous, or dye his hair such a ugly colour. Mama would kill him if he did.
"Ah, so you found a way to return, rat?" A grin spread on the one with fake hair. "It feels like we've been given another chance at executing your poor pathetic self."
"You know how bad the wifi has been after you stole our prism? I can barely log on anymore!" This one didn't even spare them a glance away from his console.
The blueish green one spoke right after. "Yeah! My meditation playlist makes me wait one second more than before! I do not have that time to spare!"
She could only stare. Were they deliberately ignoring her existence? No one ignores her existence. "Too bad for you, this hedgehog is to be defeated by my father and my father only! Or he'll turn you all into ashes!"
The room went silent, and then a train of loud laughter erupted, making her raise a brow. "What are you fools laughing at?"
"You're a child! Are we supposed to take that threat seriously?" That only made her angrier as the "leader" strolled closer to the cage.
"Seeing you've arrived with Sonic, you're considered a threat. But you do look.. oddly familiar, what's your name?" He tilted his head as he spoke, staring at her eyes.
"Aurora." She answered staring back at him. "And you?"
"Ah yes, if you came alongside him it means you don't know us..." He muttered under his breath. "I, am Mister Doctor Eggman, that one" he points to the oldest member sleeping in his chair "is Doctor Done-it, next to him is Doctor Babble" Said doctor waves at her. "To my left is Doctor Deep and Doctor Don't."
She glances between them before speaking. "Those are stupid names." Gasps are heard, like she had just confessed to a crime.
"How DARE you?" Dr Deep practically yelled. "And your dear daddy huh? How does he call himself?"
"Doctor Eggman." A quiet wave rushed through the room. "He took the nickname Sonic gave him and made it well known, but I guess if you want his real name it's Doctor Ivo Robotnik."
Aurora felt their eyes on her, even the one obsessed with his game stopped for a second. Sonic decided to ease the tension, quickly explaining the situation. "Well in our universe she's uhh.. kinda your daughter..?"
"Kinda?" Dr Don't raised a brow, half focused on his game half focused on the conversation.
"No, she is your daughter. Buuut it seems like [Name] doesn't exist here so I'm pretty sure she also doesn't." He scratched his head while taking.
Mr Dr Eggman questioned him after he heard the strange name. "Who?"
"My Mama!" Aurora pulled a crumbled photo from her pocket, turning it to their view through the electrical bars.
"Give me that." The man ripped the photograph from her hands, observing the portrait of a woman holding what seemed to be a younger Aurora.
He didn't know why, but he froze. Dr Deep noticed and got closer, glazing at the same photo, freezing too. Had they ever seen this face before? They felt like they did, but logically, they didn't. Strange.
Dr Deep cleared his throat, looking at the little girl infront of him. "Well, it seems like we have a tough situation at hand."
"Indeed. For the time being.. keeping you as a.. visitor is the most appropriate approach to this situation." Mr Dr Eggman declared, straightening up and handing the photo back.
Dr Don't finally looked up from his screen, confusion expressed on his face. "We're doing what now?"
"Hey! What about me??" Sonic stamped his foot repeatedly against the metal with his arms crossed.
Dr Deep scoffed. "You're staying there. Or maybe we should make you power the city again?"
"..No thanks I prefer staying here."
Ah yes. This is totally what Aurora thought she'd experience when she woke up this morning. That she'd be guided though metal walls by a toupee wearing version of her father.
.. Hopefully she can see him and mama soon. This one is too annoying.
Alright, so hear me out on this, but that post of yours detailing the relationship between the Eggman Council and the reader got me thinking, what if there’s a group equivalent to the council but with the reader? Like a group of differing readers coinciding with the Eggman Council, with the reader that enters the world with Sonic filling the Mr Dr Eggman role? Just a group that may go against the council in some way and has different dynamics to look into. Sorry if that sounds confusing, but I’ve been stewing over this and figured I’d share!
Some little names for the counterparts: Dr./Mx./Miss/Mr. Jibber, Won’t, Dr. Reader, Depth, and Over-it
Sorry again if this is too goofy sounding lol
Heh, those names are funny.
(please read the full post bc I started rambling but I did address your idea!!)
Anyways, at first I actually thought about a "council of readers" being like agent Stone but multiplied, except the doctors are secretly in love with their reader but do not want to admit.
Dr Babble's reader would prefer napping instead of planning whatever to make the civilians suffer, though they'd accept play dates with Babble whenever he decided to act like an actual baby. Babble does not understand why his reader likes playing with fluffy toys more than weapons.. but if it makes them happy it makes him happy!
For Dr Don't I'm wondering if his reader would be his total opposite, or an "emo" like him. But for the sake of the rest of the post, they'll be the typical angsty hating everything teen/young adult.
So, his reader would also like playing video games and ignoring everyone else, except him of course. I've stated this before but in my head Don't's a tsundere, so he'll actually do many things for them like get defensive when the council questions their relationship or simply drop their favourite snacks whenever they're gaming. He won't admit it, but his reader is a slightly less annoying living being, so he'll keep them around.
Mr Dr Eggman's reader is super prideful, just like him. They'd always be seen by his side, even if the sky is falling. Don't tell anyone I'm telling you this but he evens asks for their opinion on things. Not that it matters much... But it gives him an outside perspective or something like that. I'm sure he just wants to hear them talk tho.
Dr Deep's reader is highly superficial, liking to keep their appearance neat and unnaturally tidy, as if they're a porcelain doll on display. I also think it'd be fun if they wore some type of traditional Japanese clothing or something referencing it, as Deep's mech resembles a samurai if I'm not mistaken.
Dr Done-it and his reader would actually be married! They're exactly like those old couples that are always fighting for the stupidest tiniest things, and when they aren't it's because Done-it is sleeping. Jokes aside, although he's not one to directly say "I love you", he has learned how to crochet and sew just to give them things made by him, no young useless hands involved.
Though, leading more towards your idea now, I think it'd work like this:
Dr Babble's counterpart would still be a baby reader that prefers napping over anything else, and I like to imagine he is immensely jealous of them as he doesn't get the privilege of acting like a baby 24/7. To be honest I don't think the rest of the council, except for maybe Deep, would get him baby toys, so he simply makes his own referring reader's.
Dr Don't's counterpart would not be bothered by the rest of the reader council, at least not so much, and it'd cause a slight envy on Don't. He doesn't really care about the council as long as he has his video games and his room, but seeing that they're barely called out by their council and it seems they're genuinely loved kinda stirs something in him.
Their views on games would be totally different though, with reader thinking video games are a way for anyone to express themselves and let others know while Don't would think they're just made to be fun.
Mr Dr Eggman's counterpart is who orchestrated for their council to exist, and I feel like their motivation would be restoring freedom, so they'd hope to form an alliance with the resistance. I think it'd be funny if they were married but because of him wanting a dictatorship they demanded a divorce and now want their former husband GONE.
Dr Deep's counterpart would also have a very heavy Asian resemblence, yet I think it'd be a great fit if it wasn't Japanese but Indian or Thai instead. In my head it'd be cool if they're the opposite of Japanese beauty standards too. They have a huge rivalry, and even if Deep doesn't want to admit it, they stopped wanting each other's throats and are.. starting to want eachother instead. Oh no.
I also wanted Dr Done-it's counterpart to have a past with him, but unlike Mr Dr Eggman and his reader, Dr Done-it's would be a past business partner who he valued deeply but forgot about as the chaos council was formed, making them join the rest of the readers. At first they just wanted him to come back to his senses but when you're old there's not much you can really do. So they just help around and try to bring back rights to the people.
Idk what to call them honestly, and I think that's something YOU have to decide, you're them after all.
Dr. Deep’s quarters. You and Dr. Deep share a relaxing bath, helping each other unwind and destress.
Bathing Together
The bathroom was filled with the gentle sound of water running as Dr. Deep prepared a warm bath. The steam created a soft haze, and the scent of lavender filled the air, creating a serene atmosphere.
You stepped into the bathroom, smiling at the inviting scene. “This looks perfect,” you said, your voice full of appreciation.
Dr. Deep smiled back, his eyes softening. “I thought we could use some relaxation after everything.”
You both slipped into the warm water, feeling the tension of the day melt away. Dr. Deep leaned back against the tub, his eyes closing in contentment. You moved closer, taking a sponge and gently washing his back, your movements slow and soothing.
“This is nice,” he murmured, his voice a soft hum of relaxation.
You smiled, continuing to wash his back with gentle, circular motions. “You deserve it, Deep. You’ve been working so hard.”
He opened his eyes, looking at you with a mixture of gratitude and affection. “Thank you,” he said softly.
You switched places, allowing him to take the sponge and wash your back in return. His touch was gentle, the rhythmic motion of the sponge soothing your muscles.
As you both settled back into the warm water, you leaned against his chest, feeling his arms wrap around you. The gentle rise and fall of his breathing created a comforting rhythm, and you closed your eyes, savouring the moment of peace.
“Sometimes, it’s the small things that matter the most,” you whispered, your voice barely audible over the soft sound of the water.
Dr. Deep pressed a gentle kiss to your temple. “I couldn’t agree more.”
In the quiet comfort of the bath, you both found a sense of tranquillity, the stresses of the day fading away as you focused on each other. It was a moment of pure, uncomplicated intimacy, a reminder of the strength of your bond.
The room was quiet, the weight of the day settling heavily on your shoulders. You sat with Dr. Deep, trying to untangle the whirlwind of emotions that didn’t seem to belong to you.
“I don’t understand my own feelings,” you admitted, voice barely above a whisper. “It’s like I can only feel through books or other people. I can’t tell what’s mine.”
Dr. Deep leaned back, thinking. “Emotions are complex, they’re like a web connecting everything around us. Sometimes, we get tangled in those threads.”
You sighed, the confusion gnawing at you. “It’s stressful, not knowing what I actually feel.”
He looked at you, gaze steady and reassuring. “It’s okay to feel lost. Think of it as an uncharted map. Start marking the places you visit through books or interactions. Over time, you’ll see your path more clearly.”
You nodded, a glimmer of hope surfacing. “So, it’s okay to take it slow?”
“Absolutely,” he said softly. “Emotions aren’t a race. We’ll figure it out, one step at a time.”
In that moment, the burden felt a little lighter. With Dr. Deep’s wisdom and support, you knew you could start navigating the maze of your emotions, one thread at a time.
