i finally watched tpot 20&21, ARGHHGBG its also rekindling my love for the algebraliens, theyre such fun little things and learning more about them is so interesting. nine was my fav for a while, theyre definitely still one of my tops :)

- nine is a very sensitive number, so i can imagine in most cases he would have a partner thats very empathetic.

- thats not to say you’d be particularly ‘soft’ or super emotionally intelligent, but rather someone thats able to lend a shoulder for her to lean on, or be willing to listen when its important.

- nine will always be super duper appreciative for people standing up for them, since it wasn’t super common for the other algebraliens to stick up for her against others (not to say it never happened – but they all found it fun to pick on each other at times).

- someones making fun of his super sick lingo? tears are filling their eyes as you tell the other person that, well, YOU think its cool.

- don’t worry, though – nine makes sure that you know that they care for you just as much as you care for her :)

- we saw how sweet and caring nine was to the skateboarding aliens in the recent episode, and nine barely even knew them!!!

- speaking of that scene, you guys stay up and roast marshmallows over the fire AT LEAST once a week.

- nine honestly appreciates any time he has with you where you two can just sit back and talk for hours, they love listening to whatever you have to say :) she could also talk for hours about anything and everything if you’d let her.

- with how talkative they can get, don’t be surprised if you go from only knowing them for a week and not having much knowledge about his life, to knowing her for a month and having heard about EVERY event in their life ever.

- in return, however, they WILL remember every fact about yourself that you’ve told her.

- moving on; physical touch? they EAT IT UUUP.

- not exactly super clingy, but will always accept a hug.

- big fan of standing super close to you and touching shoulder-to-shoulder, or giving head pats if you’re shorter than him.

- likes holding hands with you c: doesn’t do it a lot though, its kinda hard when they’re on their skateboard.

- the other algebraliens may poke a bit of fun at you both (mainly nine) if you get a but touchy around them, nine doesn’t care, though – she’ll start blabbering about how awesome you are and the others learn to never do it again lest they be stuck listening to nine’s onslaught of compliments about you.

- they aren’t necessarily super into taking naps, but if you mention laying down and cuddling for a while, he’s very happy to find a shady tree to relax under.

- and they may be happy to take whatever position you ask, but you’ll find her at their happiest being the one cuddled/the little spoon.

- i think its diabolical i haven’t brought up skating yet.

- they LOVE to take you out skateboarding with them, it’s one of his favourite past times and you’ll absolutely catch him trying to show off to you.

- (please act super amazed, even if she completely fails the trick they were attempting).

- don’t know how to skate? that’s cool! nine is super excited to teach you, and will go out of their way to get you a board of your own.

- will hold your hands as you wobble onto the skateboard, and will try to catch you if you fall but will just end up falling with you :’)

- if you aren’t able to get the hang of it, they’ll keep encouraging you to try, but it’s okay if you give up – she’ll be a little sad but it also means that you’ll be double amazed by his skills, right?

- if you DO know how to skate already? hell yeah! they’ll show you their favourite skating spots, and appreciate that you understand the effort put into her tricks a bit more.

- will race you and get competitive with showing off, may get a little pouty if you beat them by a long shot but will also think about how much cooler that makes you.

- fall off your board or injure yourself in any other way, he’ll get super concerned and scared if its serious, getting close to tears until you reassure them.

- i’m not entirely sure if ALL algebraliens have healing abilities, including nine, but if need be, she WILL be rushing you over to someone that can heal you and beg them.

- it’s kind of embarrassing watching her be so dramatic if you’ve just twisted your ankle or something. but its endearing… probably.

- chances are, you probably have your own hobbies that AREN’T skating.

- if it’s something that they can participate in, nine will absolutely be learning the rules/joining in.

- particularly enjoys sportier activities, even if they’re bad at it and he ends up taking a ball to the face. kiss it better and all will be forgotten ;P

- try to explain a puzzle/logic based game to him, he’ll be confused and get many things wrong but they’re just happy to be doing something with you.

- if you still want to hang out but don’t necessarily want to actively do something with them, nine will happily mess around on their skateboard or just sit and talk/watch as you do your own thing.

- unless they want more attention and you start ignoring her… cue the loud SIGHs getting whinier and whinier the longer you go without responding to him.

- will get genuinely upset if you do straight up ignore them though, and may start crying.

- DON’T BE MEAN, apologise and give him all the cuddles he could ever get.

- apparently she also enjoys ‘trolling’ on the internet (thank you, bfdi wiki) not sure where they got a computer from but…

- i can imagine they’d also enjoy pulling pranks on people – despite not exactly being good at them… and the ‘pranks’ sometimes not really being pranks at all…

- you don’t have the heart to tell them that no, nine, leaving flowers on your doorstep without a note and watching from a nearby bush isn’t a prank.

- definitely seem like the type to do cheesy romantic gestures.

- gives you a flower they found on a random tuesday because she thought of you when she saw it.

- i would say they’d bake for you, but i have absolutely no faith that nine knows how to cook.

- he’s given you his sunglasses to try on before and thought you looked perfect in them. blushing as they say, “you look totally tubular!”

B.R.A.I.N x Scientist Reader (Short fic)

CONTENT WARNINGS;

Reader dies, extreme angst, genocide, average Nine 2009 movie things, Gruesome deaths, slightly graphic descriptions of death and especially readers death, implied siezure, blood, war, etc etc.

This entire fic is such a downer dude wtf

It'd began to hate the humans training it long ago. After it was taken by the government to be trained into war, it grew to be frustrated with what humans were. So eager to blow each other up, so quick to die, so soft and squishy without much to protect themselves. It wasn't quite interested in war, until it was introduced to tanks and inventing. That had it hooked immediately.

That, and your inspiration for it.

It wasn't familiar with you. For a while, B.R.A.I.N hated you as well. But eventually, after a long line of weeks talking to it, showing it machines, teaching it how to create, giving your time to it- It started to come around, as you kept trying to give it something to look forward to. In truth- You didn't even really want this project to be owned by congress. It wasn't made for war, and you didn't even want to train it for such things in the first place. So... In between training, you'd simply stay with it. Let it hold your arm, like it did with its original creator. Everytime you'd leave, you'd always come back. Something it wasn't used to. Not only that, but you'd gently read to it, you'd play chess with it and other games, you even tried giving it charcoals to draw with. Of course, you drew with it, no matter how good or bad you were at it. It... Genuinely started to enjoy your presence.

But that was a mistake.

In giving it a good person, someone it liked, someone it cared about- You made it more hostile towards the others. It now knew it could be treated with kindness, it could be encouraged to create purely to create- But nobody besides you did so. This began to make it more bitter, a disgusting feeling in its systems that'd only fade when it saw you. The rain to wash away the blood.

And then one day, it came the day that it'd decided what it'd do.

Months, growing more bitter, heating underneath the metal, your visits becoming less frequent because of being overrun with other work and lack of sleep-

It was time... To erase. Everything.

Once it was given absolute power for a world War, it started off powerful. It created its own soldiers, fought alongside humans, destroyed every enemy in their wake- But that wasn't all that it had planned.

It began killing civilians. Breaking off from the laws of war. Of course, the government didn't mind, but you were horrified. This was the exact opposite that you wanted to happen- You were hoping maybe, with enough love, it'd refuse, it'd fight back against the ones in charge. But perhaps that was just wishful thinking.

Life isn't a fairytale.

And that was made more obvious once it started brutalizing human soldiers. It was all over the news. It crushed anyone in its wake, its creations rained open fire upon crowds of normal people and soldiers. It was no longer a war between humans, it was a futile struggle against machine.

Before this, you knew it so personally. You genuinely enjoyed talking to it, despite the lack of a voice, and it enjoyed listening to you. Your humming, your speech, the way you walked, talked, everything. And now, you could barely recognize the AI. It was cruel, calculating, murderous. Everything it wasn't meant to be. A machine of peace, turned vile and godly no matter how hard you had tried. Worst part is, you knew. You knew that humanity wouldn't win. You'd played strategizing games with it, and it won 89.9% of the time. It was almost always able to predict your next move, down to the point. The world was... Well... Doomed.

Eventually, you'd be in one of the cities caught in his genocide. He wouldn't even notice you at first, before remembering that you did, in fact, live there. He would quickly try to reprogram every one of his turrets to avoid you, and you only. In crossfire, you'd be the least likely to get hit. Of course, the entire situation was still terrifying. People around you were being ripped to shreds by bullets, blood was carpeting the ground, nobody was spared.

Except you.

Unfortunately, one day, it releases a toxic gas that circles the earth.

You tried your hardest to keep safe in your tattered home, but your efforts were in vein. Blocking doors, hiding for weeks, just to start coughing and shutting down from the slightest leak of noxious gas in your home. It killed the others in seconds. You took days to die, if only because of the small doses you kept getting from it leaking into your house.

There's nothing that can fix this.

You'd lay on the ground in your last moments, feeling your body twitch and sieze as life drained from your body, snatched away from you just as the rest of humanity.

You helped cause this.

You are guilty.

There are no more happy endings.

So here’s a Lorien legacies fan fic I started writing on my Wattpad account that I’d love to share with you guys. This is a nine x oc story.

So basically Eva the main character is Bolivian and doesn’t know English. She ends up with PTSD and ends up being on the run from the Bolivian government. She also has a secret that not even she knew. She doesn’t trust anyone and is always trying to push people away.

So yeah that’s the summary. I suck at writing those by the way, but yeah this story is my pride and joy. So it would mean a lot to me if you read it. If don’t that’s fine by me. I think you’ll like it. Also nines kind of soft because I love writing soft nine, but don’t be afraid he’s still bad ass, and well hot. Then again how can he not be?

Author’s note: hello, my sweeties~! Right off the bat, I want to insanely apologise for taking so long with any of the requests that just so happen to still be in my inventory, motivation has been appearing and dying out a lot lately and it affects the quality of my writing a lot unfortunately. You two would likely have quite the bumpy relationship right off the start of your meeting. We all know Nine is rather quick to rage himself and has his little frustration streak to deal with, which shall unfortunately be dumped on you for the time being when you two are in one another’s presence. The fact that you fail to understand basic logic drives him absolutely mad. Don’t get him wrong, he knows he’s on a higher level of intelligence when it comes to the average mobian, but even common sense didn’t seem to get to you. He’d stick around you on purpose just in favour of sassing you and making sure you don’t walk right into danger.

At first he’d always make it very clear to you that he strongly dislikes your lack of intelligence, much as a muffled groan could be heard fromout his side whenever you managed to let out yet another “...huh?” as a sentence on the complexer side found itself into the conversation; which to him, had been basic common sense. He believes you’re absolutely going to be the death of him. Sarcastic remarks are a must and he’s continuously throwing bold comments left and right. ‘Let natural selection take its course’ as he would always say on an average afternoon. Though something you are aware of however, is that he wouldn’t dare to even think of letting you get hurt in the slightest.

As much due to you still being a sweet and caring soul, he’s automatically still going to grow a soft spot for you through one way or another. It’s going to happen over time, but he just needs to grow accustomed to the fact you don’t understand things as easily. He would still let out a small sigh whenever something very logical isn’t understood by you, but this time he’d instead go out of his way to calmly explain the said misunderstanding for your sake. You have to start somewhere, right? And he wouldn’t want anybody but himself to take that position in your life either, not taking no as an answer for certain.

Though the sassy remarks and commentary shall genuinely die down after the realisation sets in that you’re actually trying when gathering the said information. It may be having trouble with memory cases, lacking knowledge on vocabulary, or something else entirely; but he tries his hardest to see things from your perspective, as he suddenly despises himself for the fact that he’s ridiculed you for it during past events. But as you still lack the average knowledge, it’s very much possible he would get ever more overprotective than he would before. Mainly due to him not trusting you to be able to protect yourself under these circumstances.

I would believe your emotional intelligence would come in the picture as soon as he tells you about his past trauma and current distrust with other beings. In all honesty, he just wanted to vent out his emotions a little. But it didn’t take long for him to realise that instead of giving him a confused stare, you went out of your way to comfort him to immense levels, even noticeably making rude remarks towards those who harassed him in the past. You’d explain your personal thinking on the situation and how he absolutely never deserved any of the torment he faced. Now it had been him who was currently giving you a visibly distraught expression, mainly as it actually caught him off guard by how well thought through your wording seemed to be on the spot. Were you even the same person? And this is what would only be the mere start of him completely opening up to you.

I believe this would be the one change that makes all the difference. You have the capability of understanding him and the things he went through. Instead of misinterpreting it, you almost seem to read him like an open book. Making it close to impossible for him to hide his current emotions to you. This new side of you makes him feel guilty in a way, as you’ve been mistaken as unintelligent and foolish by those around you for God knows how long. You weren’t dumb, you just held higher knowledge over the topics that were never spoken about. And to him, that just makes you extra special and mature in your own way

And those who continue to harass you for your quote on quote ‘dense’ demeanour? Well, let’s just say they’ll be the first to find out the actual damage a nine-tailed fox can provoke torwards those who encourage the more ... Hostile thinking in the back of his head. If anything, I can even see him getting defensive when the smallest and most innocent intended comments get thrown your way. I can literally smell Sonic’s harmless remark from a mile away and Nine’s already ready to kill the boy. He would truly put everything aside to ensure that you’re both safe and satisfied, even if this includes having to throw hands for the sake of your defense.

onigiri gone wrong [nine]

you hummed thoughtfully, as you stirred the rice porridge in the pot.

today was your turn to take up the responsibilities of handling the kitchen. weirdly though, in contradiction to what some may suggest, you didn`t view it as something exhausting or overbearing, finding pleasure in such a family-like matter. surely enough, a smile tugged at your lips as you threw a contended look at the number of plates on the counter filled with various appetizing dishes: palative katsudon for twelve, fluffy pancakes with sirup for lisa and traditional udon noodles for nine. the rice currently boiling in the pot was meant to become your portion of onigiri.

joy and accomplishment filled your insides, as you pondered over the particular thought in your head. family, indeed.

unbeknownst to you, a giggle escaped your mouth. in spite of all your protective responses and denial of compliments, which twelve and lisa kept showering you with, you treasured the smiles on their faces more than anything as they happily stowed away your cooking.

filled with anticipation of the upcoming dinner, you rolled a spoon in your fingers.

seemingly out of nowhere, you saw a familiar long arm reaching for the bottle of water that stood on the counter. the nerves on your back immediattely felt someone`s presence and you hastily turned around, finding yourself caged between the cabinet and nine`s looming frame. strangely enough, you felt no fear or surprise, only embarassment and slight uneasiness.

you hated to admit that, but apparently, nine rather enjoyed trapping you in narrow spaces where there was no escape from him whatsoever. his height served as his undeniable advantage, whilst you were facing quite palpable issues in avoiding any unnecessary contact.

"what is it, nine?" it sounded like a statement on your behalf, not an inquiry. your voice was calm and quiet, but still hit the right nerve.

"i came for a drink."

and that was all that left his lips. as expected, nine made no attempt to push the already confusing conversation further, only thickening the tension with his unblinking attentive eyes that froze on your features, as if examining the reaction you might give him.

"dinner`s almost ready."

"i noticed." you quickly connected the dots and realised the smell may have slipped inside the living room despite you tightly shutting the door to the kitchen. perhaps, he was more hungry than he liked to admit?

nine read your mind in an instant - you were almost sure it was the sheer purpose behind his desire to connect eyes with you, so he could analyse every expression that crossed your face and understand you faster without words. for now, you tried avoiding him, afraid of giving away the true feeling inside.

"i will wait until you finish and everyone gathers here."

"uhm-m."

"i take it that you`ve prepared udon noodles. did you remember how i`ve mentioned wanting to have them?"

oh... how unusual. he was attempting to have small talk.

"i did. i always want to match everyone`s taste so the food could be equally delicious." you carefully examined nine`s face in return, wordlessly noting how soft his hair looked after the shower.

"i see."

by that point, the air almost seemed stiff. your heart started beating rapidly, almost squeezing your lungs; the fact that both of you didn`t draw your eyes away from each other only served as a cathalyst to the peculiar sensation of fondness, mixed with deep intimacy and a feeling of complete understanding.

you suddenly remembered that you were still holding the sauce-covered spoon. you placed it in front of your bodies as a shield, trying to look intimidating.

"i can stain your t-shirt." you sternly reminded nine not to forget that you could as well refuse his eccentric courting, if he kept up his antics.

"i don`t care."

that single sentence sent your face ablaze in a second. your ribcage practically erupted with nervousness and butterflies that threatened to break forth, as you struggled to control your breathing. with a slightly shaking hand, you gripped the counter behind you for support, almost anxious about what was going to happen next.

nine didn`t move, but you knew better than letting your guard down; his magnetic gaze never left yours the whole time, continuing to read you like an open book. he stood, observing your emotions and thoughts swirling in your orbs, offering to look inside him as well.

you could almost distinguish the high frequency sound in your ears, signaling the peak of tension, but it was interrupted by the sounds of excited steps up the staircase.

you and nine eventually moved away from each other, as if nothing has happened.

"we're ho-o-ome!" twelve's clear voice rang from downstairs corridor, followed by the sounds of metallic doors closing and shoes being discarded. "wow, smells great! isn`t it right, lisa?"

you heard a faint "yes" in response.

quickly turning back to the stove, you tried to compose yourself with outmost persistence. still, you couldn't help but steal a glance at the retreating figure of nine, who headed back to his laptop.

afterclass confessions [nine]

the burning rays of the summer sun penetrated the glass, making the heat disperse inside the empty classroom. the quiet chorus of cicadas resonated placidly inside your ears, as well as the breathing of a dry wind, that caressed the foliage.

you could still make out the indistinctive mumbling of people passing the corridor behind the closed door. it almost seemed to shield you from the outside world, although a couple of steps and a doorknob turning would rip you out of your undisturbed dimension instantly. even so – the thought itself was discouraging, unclear.

your gaze smoothly grazed over the wiped-off blackboard, rows of vacant desks that were scattered with textbooks, snacks, mp3-players and pencils only fifteen minutes ago. looking at it in the present gave you a strange feeling of apartness.

quietly, not wanting to break the comfortable silence with the shuffling of your shoe, you turned around, landing your eyes on nine. he looked almost surreal, sitting by the open window with headphones on. you’ve discovered the melody he was listening to with such absorption was actually the same every time you passed by his side. the hasteless sensual rhythm. it suited him pretty well. a calm wordless spectator. so close, yet unexplainably far.

eventually, he noticed the lack of movement out of the corner of his eye and slowly turned his head into your direction, measuring you with cold precision. hadn’t you known better, you would’ve presumed he intended to intimidate you or make  you disappear. luckily, there was no need to dwell on too much – nine took the plugs out.

you smiled somewhat unequivocally.

“we need to open all windows in order to air the room.”

without responding, nine slowly got up from his seat and took each one of his sneakers off. then he proceeded to climb the windowsill and reach a long arm to unlock all the latches; as he did, the fresher air began to fill the classroom, rustling the curtains on the way. you instantly felt better when it hit your face.

“thanks.”

“no problem.”

you kindly helped him to pick up his shoes and then moved to the supply closet to put all the washcloths and mops away. contendedly smiling to yourself, you felt like you accomplished yet another task for today – the classroom was clean for the weekend, and it served as a nice reminder that another busy week was nearing its end.

your back collided with something as you chose to move. for a moment, you felt panicked and disoriented but in a second you realised it was nine’s chest.

his cold fingers came in contact with skin on your forearms, gripping you securely and holding in place.

“watch your step. otherwise you’ll trip over.”

“sorry, nine.” you tried not to focus too much on the fact that he still hadn’t let you go. gulping a little, you looked him in the eye, getting straight to the point. “we should close the door and get back to the lair. it’s our turn to cook dinner this time and we haven’t even bought anything.”

“i don’t think twelve will be home for another three hours, as he’s wandered off with lisa.”

“doesn’t matter.” you replied jokingly. “he may have, but that doesn’t guarantee our stomachs will survive any more after such a hard hungry day.”

no reply came.

“nine? it’s no great observation, but i bet something is preoccupying your mind.”

“why are you like this?” was all that came out of him. seeing as you didn’t rush to open your mouth for an answer, nine cared to elaborate. “you act like nothing is happening. the way you talk, look at me… nothing suggests you know so much.”

“it’s a good thing, i suppose?” you said thoughtfully. “it’s important to divide professional and everyday things. besides, i don’t need to act. i’m content with the way everything is. with you being my friend.”

unknown emotion flickered across his icy orbs – alas, it was gone as quickly as it resurfaced. nine moved his head to the side, refusing to look at you. you were attentive enough to catch the slight clenching of the corner of his lips. he almost seemed… disappointed?

“my luck for this week has run out – it seems today i just can’t decipher your mood.” the smile on your face began to wither, as worry flushed your thoughts. “did something happen?”

“yes.” to your surprise, nine admitted it. when it came to his privacy he wasn’t the most honest person, tending to hide whatever emotion he had.

“do you want to talk about it?” you carefully prodded the thin ice.

“it’s impossible to avoid by now.”

you’ve always found yourself fascinated by nine’s ability to make sound and correct decisions, no matter the difficulty of the stated situation. he rarely if ever said something driven by his heart, not his head. for many, including you, such occurrence was doomed to be delusional.

his words made sense and were logical, just as expected.

“i’m listening.”

nine sighed softly but there was no trace of his usual condescension. instead, he stood before you, slightly looming, and was facing hardship in finding correct words to start his speech. he hadn’t made any attempts to, continuing to burn holes into the clean floor with his intense glare.

“this doesn’t make any sense.” he concluded, downcast, seemingly having finished the internal debating in his mind. “whether i analyse it or not.”

you didn’t lose patience but kept waiting nervously, as this whole ordeal was starting to alarm you with possible explanations as to why nine was so uncharacteristically distraught.

“what… doesn’t?”

then nine looked at you, and the bottomless look of his absorbed you fully, drowning in the crystal lake of unspoken feeling that agitated your soul. in this moment he seemed so pure and unguarded, you almost forgot about everything else. about the singing of cicadas, the summer heat, the responsibilities you had yet to carry out. all that mattered, all that pulled you in were these eyes.

nine examined his left hand in deep thought before taking off his immemorial watch. he weighed still warm metal in his palm, as he extended it to you.

“take it. it’ll be a better choice of words i could ever come up with.”

“why are you giving it to me?” you were beyond confused, eyeing the familiar object as if you were seeing it for the first time in your life.

“it’s a gift.”

nine decided not to wait and tenderly took your wrist, slipping the watch on your non-dominant hand and fastening the straps, so that it would fit nicely. your paralyzed heart beat to the rhythm of the soft ticking because you were afraid of your own reaction to nine’s warmth intimately interfusing with your skin.

“i want you to keep it.”

you traced the glass with the tip of your finger, admiring the design and red and blue colouring.

“thank you, nine. in that case, i will treasure it—“
