One must imagine Dr. Finch in the revealed ending. Does Ortega explain... why their patient won't be showing up to sessions anymore? Does she connect the dots herself? Especially with a more... unstable session that didn't get wiped.
Your patient, with a clear unstable mental state (in the case of not-wiped) or decently normal patient with depression. They are a villain (possibly a seriously bad one, and a murderer).
Frankly, I would quit my job.
