reasons why I am getting my doctorate:
1. I genuinely care about the ways that youth are written about in history and I am appalled by the lack of agency youth in the past and the present are presumed to have.
2. I want modern historians to take their heads out of their asses and use material culture to help them stop fucking writing top-down histories.
3. Anytime someone calls me ‘Miss’ I want to correct them with ‘Doctor, please.’ because I AM TIRED FAM.

Free book for child abuse survivors translated in 10 languages. It can be a good training for polyglots, but the reason I’m sharing this is not only that.
My good friend, a psychologist Dr. Matthew Stewart (Dr. Matt for short) has launched a new website. A few years ago, I translated one of his key books into Russian. Other translators worldwide worked on their translations as well. Now Dr. Matt offers those books for free, because we all believe this is the right thing to do.
His book is more for fun and play, but I cried a few times when working on the translation because… Well, I’ve never experienced any kind of abuse, but we all have scars in our hearts.
This book may help you to overcome the things that prevent you from being happy and happily matured. I tried to keep Dr. Matt’s informal intonation when translating. I really like his books and enjoy talking to him, when I have a chance.
