black is a good color to wear if you want to hide dirt or stains!!
it is, horrible to wear if youre a medical professional trying to spot blood though !
I like to headcannon that if the scientists were more lenient with the subjects, they’d give em their own rooms (with roommates ofc), but they’re more like dorm rooms.
Then later on they start to get complaints abt the subjects going feral and damaging the room or the roommate.
So they have to build an enclosure for ferals to avoid anymore damages
But once the feral subjects are placed in the enclosure that’s where things take a turn.
In certain times, feral SDs try to find mates. When finding a SD that interests them, male and females alike would spread their wings out in front of their potential mate and make a song through warbles, chirps, and trills (it sounds terrible to the scientists though)
If they are successful, the other would spread their wings out as well before joining in to sing too.
Unfortunately, there are fights when it comes down to mates. Ridley had to break up two males trying to pursue a female before things got worse. (The female they were trying to impress was already swooned away by another once the fight was over)
If SDs were outside, they would impress a potential mate by performing tricks in the sky.
Most SDs who already have mates would perform a ritual by flying as high as possible before dropping from the sky with their claws intertwined (dw they catch themselves before they hit the ground)
Ridley worked under Guy and could only watch as Guy advanced in his career while he more or less stayed where he was. Jealousy eventually consumed him and he’s been pissy at Guy since.
Summary: Alice is sent to find Nori and Yeva in the cave enclosure by Ridley for an experiment. Strangely enough, the sisters are nowhere to be found, forcing Alice to search the new ball pit.
Ft. Ridley, Alice (017), Nori (002), Yeva (048)
Day 1-3 of tickletober: Surprise! (promptlist by makeitsm!)
A/N: Finally alive and got bored and decided to make a fic solely on the solver sisters. It’s been a while since I made a lee!Alice fic. This was inspired by the comic “Ballpit Shark” by Coy-lee!
Enjoy! ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ 🧡
Warning(s): None, this is a sfw tickle fic, Don’t like keep scrolling
“I have to thank you again for helping us find 002 and 048, Seventeen.” Ridley started as she turned to the southern drone, who was moments away from entering sleep mode.
“Yeah yeah, the faster we get this over with, the faster I get back to sleep.” Alice mumbled as she drowsily rubbed her facescreen.
Evenings occasionally meant a sparse bit of free time for the test subjects. Today was no exception, and many, including Alice, were looking forward to the freedom of not being poked or prodded at for a few hours at least.
Unfortunately, that was not the case for 017.
Dr. Ridley, upon discovering 002 and 048 had been neglected to be used for experimentation, made a hasty search for the two. Neither were in the cells nor the lockers, and much to Alice’s disappointment, the next place to look was the cavern enclosure where solver drones were locked into while feral.
“I’m glad they didn’t trash their own cell." Ridley continued, going off on a tangent. "If anything, I'd assume 048 dragged her... sister to the enclosure before she lost her full mind."
“Old news, Ridley." Alice grumbled. "Damn enclosure’s been there for a couple months.”
Though her exact expression was hidden behind a heavily shaded visor, Ridley's concern did not go unseen. Every so often, they'd pause pace as the human made a second guess to herself, but then continued.
Alice, assuming Ridley was dreading a visit to the enclosure, didn't get why none of the humans ever went in there. More often than not, they were in charge of throwing feral solver drones in there in the first place. So they were clearly comfortable dealing with them... (perhaps too much so, just the other day Yeva said she saw a particularly aggressive scientist throw 006 in by the tail so hard it snapped off)
"Why ye afraid?" The drone asked after neither spoke for a minute. "Ye ain't the one goin' in there. An' anyway, why am I the one stickin' my head in their feral business?"
Ridley didn't answer, instead stopping in front of a large metal door so thick that nothing had dented it since it was put into use. Ridley took out her keycard and swiped it down into the scanner. The door grumbled open as if disturbed from a deep slumber. Alice barely got a chance to make a quick look around before Ridley shoved her inside.
“Good luck in there,” she grimaced sternly. "And don't come back until you have those two monsters in your death grip."
“I-I ain't gotta death grip-" Alice started defensively, but she was silenced when the door slammed and locked shut again.
*rich of 'er to call Nori and Yeva monsters...* she sighed.
As a drone lacking the Solver, Alice never been inside the enclosure before, but she understood why ferals loved it so much; the stalactites above were littered with bite marks from drones using them to sleep. The walls weren't safe from wear and tear either. Carved holes lined the wall and made into communal nests for those preferring to curl up for a nap.
The enclosure was strangely tranquil tonight. Usually there was at least a buzz of noise that made it unbearably overwhelming (unless one brought a good pair of headphones), but the only sounds reverberating off the cavern walls were Alice's padded feet. As much as she wanted to drop dead on the floor, she had a task to do, and that was to find her sisters for this experiment Ridley wanted to do so badly.
She began to circle around the enclosure, taking her sweet time to look for the two. After a while of strolling, she decided to try and yell, normally they’d come right out, given there weren’t any other feral drones in there but the sisters.
“Nori! Yeva! Come on out! Ridley needs ya for somethin’!” Alice shouted, only the echo of her voice meeting her “Git out here, you two, I ain't got all night! Yer only making it harder for yourselves!”
Suddenly, the southern drone heard a shuffle, followed by the tapping of claws. She whipped her head around only to find nothing but the ball pit she stood on the edge of.
Rumor among the test subjects (and they tended to hold truth) suggested that the scientists got it thanks to donations and decided to use it for the feral drones by filling it with colorful plastic pit balls for their entertainment. Alice had never been in it on the rare occasion she'd been in the enclosure, out of fear she might come out one limb short, but it just looked... fun to be in.
And certainly fun for Nori and Yeva to hide in.
The southerner took a deep breath before dropping inside the pit, the spheres slowly rising above her waist. Not too deep, but a solver drone could easily conceal themselves under it. She awkwardly began to shuffle her way through it as she shouted for her sisters once more.
“Nori!" She barked. "Yeva! Where are y’all?!”
For a moment, there was no response.
The worker drone grumbled before a rustle came from the pool, disturbing the otherwise still pit. She turned to find the noise, and another rustle was heard from the other side. This time, she swore a red glint made itself shyly known.
Before she could investigate, Alice glanced down and caught the sight of a bat-like shadow swallowing her own. The southern drone yelped as she whipped around and was downright jumpscared by Nori tackling her. The solver drone managed to knock her over, voice laced with feral giggles.
Yeva also spooked her, creeping up right behind her and nuzzling her snout on Alice’s neck with a soft, content chittering. The worker drone grumbled, slightly annoyed, but happy to see her feral siblings-in-arms not trying to tear each other apart.
“Yeah yeah... y'all got me, happy?” Alice asked, offering her finger to Nori for her to nibble on. The latter merely grinned as wide as her mouth would let her, then backed away as her sane friend stood up. Yeva did the same.
'Friend! Here! Play? Come to play?' Nori warbled curiously, staring at her with the best puppy eyes that the Solver glyph painting her facescreen could give.
“No, no play," Alice muttered. "Ridley needs to examine you and Yeva right now.”
This earned her a particularly nasty smile, and the grin on Nori’s smile melted into a baring of the fangs. Behind her, Alice heard a temperamental grunt from Yeva, who was showing her displeasure just as much.
‘No! Danger! Ridley weird! Dangerous!’ Nori growled, jumping forward and wrapping her arms around Alice’s waist in protest.
“Ah-! ow! Quit it, Nori!” Alice yelped back, swatting a hand at Nori to make her back down.
'Sorry...' Nori murmured. 'Hurt? Afraid? Upset?'
“No, I ain't hurt..." Alice reassured her, straightening up and rubbing the area where Nori’sclaws bore into her. "It’s fiiiine... I get it; I’m not the fondest o' 'er, either.”
‘Why go?’ Yeva chittered.
“I'll be damned if I know, maybe they’re gonna look at your wings or something... But come on, they’re waiting for ya. And I need a snooze.”
Before Yeva could warble out another question, she and Nori were suddenly hoisted up over their sister’s shoulders before being carried out of the ball pit. In response, the two squirmed to get out of Alice’s grip, causing the southern worker to nearly drop them.
“Hey hey hey hey!" She exclaimed, grabbing their lanyards for extra security in case she let go. "Settle down ye two! It’s just gonna take a few minutes to examine you and yer done!”
Alice’s grip was tight, but one smack of Nori’s tail was enough to make her let go of the two. They scrambled and dove back into the pit, hiding from the worker drone like they were playing a game.
Growing tired of their funny business, Alice quickly hopped back into the pit to find them once more, knowing full well they'd avoid or resist her like she was human.
“Nori! Yeva!" She snapped, wading through the ball pit and sending balls flying everywhere. "Git yer hides out here, damnit! I ain’t got no time for this!”
A sudden clatter of the pit balls to her left perked Alice’s attention. She turned and headed towards the sound with a smirk. If she could strike at the right time, then she’ll definitely get one of the rascals.
“Nori… I know you’re over there...” Alice taunted as she crept up, her hands in ready position so she could capture her.
She raised her hands, but before she could strike, something in her blind spot pounced on her. Sharp teeth clamped down around her side, making her nearly screech from the tickly feeling only to see Yeva nibbling the area. Her claws also started to drag and crawl up across Alice’s torso.
“H-hehehey! Quit it Yeva I’m tryna get—Ah!” Alice stammered but was unable to finish her retort as she got tackled and submerged into the pit by Nori.
The three wrestled and struggled. Every once in a while, a limb or tail would resurface, causing the other pit balls to fly around. Chitters and giggles filled the air as Alice struggled to make her way out of the pit. Maybe if she could make it to the door without being dragged away, she'd get the attention of a nearby human...
Eventually, she was able to climb her way to the edge of the pit again, but not without the two feral drones grabbing ahold of her legs. She used her own dull claws to heave herself out, desperate struggling as every pull and tug from the two inched her closer to her potential doom.
“Gaaah! Let..me…go!” Alice growled with a strain before being overpowered and yanked back into the pit. As she did, both solver drones began to playfully claw and nibble at her stomach and neck, eliciting more giggles from Alice as she struggled to get her sisters off.
“Hehehehahahahaha! Nohohori! Yeheheva! Quihihit it! This ain’t the time to plahahay!” Alice giggled as she pushed Yeva’s snout away from her neck.
Nori noticed this before aiming her claws at Alice’s underarms, earning a high-pitched shriek as Alice tried to curl into a ball to protect her other tickle spots... only for Yeva to rake her claws over her back and shoulder blades in retaliation.
“HeHAHAHA—!! YEHeheVAHA!!” Alice cackled as she uncurled from her protective ball and bucked hard.
This gave Nori time to wrap around her again before nibbling her side, her tail also wrapping around Alice to target her stomach and ribs, switching from the two spots for unpredictability. Alice was in stitches as she guffawed and cackled as she kicked her legs helplessly from the tickles. Of course this was their way of them keeping Alice from doing her task, and it was working.
“AHHAHAHAHAHA!!! GUYS PLEHEHEASE!!” Alice guffawed. “STAHAHAHAP!!”
Seeing that their sister needed a break, the two ceased, allowing her to let out some steam from the laughter. She sighed and looked up at their purple and red glyphs with a glare, both of whom were not ashamed of themselves in the slightest.
‘Play! Happy! Friend!’ Nori chirped once more, getting a little closer
'No experiment? Safe? No harm?’ Yeva chittered also.
“Hff... huff… if y'all think yer gittin' out of me taking ye to Ridley, heh... might as well get yer hopes down because I’m still taking you—THEHEHEHERE!!!"
Alice couldn’t finish her sentence before the tickle barrage began once more. Yeva dancing her sharp fingers on the ribs, Nori holding her still while her tail nipped playfully at her back.
“HEHEHEHEHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! MERHEHEHERCY!! MERCY PLEHEHEASE!” she screamed, starting to wheeze from exhaustion. "ALRIGHT! YOU WIN! YOU WIHIHIN!! JUST STAHAHAHAP!!”
Almost to her surprise, the two stopped their playful attack and nuzzled softly against their sister, who relented in trying to drag the two out. Alice groaned in annoyance as they chittered and growled, blissfully ignorant of their mischief.
“Ugh, happy, knowing I’m gonna git in trouble thanks to you two?” Alice glared, getting more cheerful warbles in return. She stifled a yawn, unsure of how long she'd been in here but assuming it was a long time according to her internal clock.
Ridley’s gonna kill me… The worker drone thought as she looked at her sisters again... both of them also looked a little sleepy. Eh, they could always do that stupid test in the morning... it wasn't that urgent anyway, and the humans could use a little spite every so often.
“Ight," Alice barked drowsily. "Move over, I need some shut eye after today.”
Both gave her cheerful warbles, and they too joined in. Nori nestled herself on top of Alice’s torso, and Yeva curled around her from the back and served as a pillow of sorts.
Alice snorted a chuckle as the oil-starved warmth of the two soaked into her own metal. It wasn't dangerously hot, more like an insulated blanket in drone form. She joined her sisters in peaceful sleep... no one around to disturb them; no humans, no disgruntled solver drones... and Alice had to admit; she'd never had a better napping spot since she got here. Maybe she should visit here more often.

“Where on Copper 9 is she?! It can't be taking her this long to rally up those two!” Ridley muttered furiously as she stomped her way towards the enclosure.
Rounding up rowdy solver drones was tricky no matter what being you were, but even an intern could handle it. So the human found it suspicious that Alice hadn't returned in two hours.
She couldn’t help but also feel a bit worried for the drone... she did send her in there in the first place, but she thought she'd get this done quickly since 002 and 048 supposedly saw her as family. What if they killed her?!
...actually that sounds like something they'd do to her... Ridley thought for a moment.
Without hesitation, the human opened the enclosure and switched on a searchlight, shining it every which way, only to come up as empty as the holes in the walls.
“Oh come on 017, please don’t be dead now.” She mumbled before being interrupted by the sound of soft snoring coming from the ball pit.
The human crept anxiously over the area before removing the surrounding pit balls to find all three of the drones fast asleep. Alice, rather than being dead, had an arm wrapped around the two others as their wings sprawled out to act as a blanket. A small grin adorned her face, so oblivious to the fact that she disobeyed the scientists.
Ridley can’t help but adore the sight a little bit, but also a little frustrated that she wouldn’t be able to finish this examination. She backed away, walked out, and spoke into her radio.
“Experimentation for subjects 002 and 048 will be have to wait till tomorrow, Dr. Chambers. Pack it up.” She huffed before clicking it off. She’ll give them one night of peace for now.
Very confident when leading others (Natural born leader)
Not afraid of conflict or getting her hands dirty (which saved an employee’s life after they provoked a solver drone)
Professional feral solver handler (knows how to take one down by herself and how to properly hold one)
Solver drones view her as a friend/parent figure
They also love to mess with her by stealing her hat or batting at her robes while she works
Ridley learned from observing them that they like to perch on things they like or have a trust in. Majority of the solver subjects tend to sit right by or on her.
Solver drones also like to bite things, they tend to secretly bite and nibble Ridley’s robes when she’s on break, leaving bite marks at the ends of it (They got shocked for it too)
Another hc: scientists have made an enclosure for feral solvers to reside in until they stop being in feral mode. They tend to make cuddle piles when they sleep. Most piles are large due to the drone’s relationship with one another. They also help clean each other.
Ridley had solver enclosure duty for almost two years after saving that employee’s life, much to her dismay (but it turned out the solver drones weren’t so bad once you got to know em)
Sometimes Ridley would prefer to eat in the enclosure to be alone for a while during lunch (toxic, passive aggressive coworkers are no good). Unfortunately, some subjects try to take her lunch (she doesn’t mind tho)
Ridley also knows all the subjects’ names by heart, often checks in on them when she’s not busy or when the subject is feral
