So finally had a T shot, never been so happy to have it, had a blood test too so I’ll find out next week if my T levels are low or not.

Tried to get the letter from the GP for my ultrasound to send to Dr Seal. But no once again I feel like the NHS are putting barriers in the way. They’ve said they can’t give me the letter as they don’t have permission from my GP, when I queried it saying I had a note on my account they said there wasn’t one.

After finally finding the note they then tell me that note is only for my blood test results. So I have to call back tomorrow (18/09/2018) at 11am to ask my GP if I can have a copy of the results Dr Seal asked for, when I’m at work.

All I want is the results or for my GP to send them to Dr Seal, why do the NHS have to make things so hard and put barriers up!!!

I'm aware that GenderCare is pretty busy at the moment, as I sent an email with my bloods results 2 weeks ago for them to be discussed with Dr Seal, and a follow-up about it last week and haven't heard anything back. How long would it usually take for them to get back if they weren't busy? Also, would they email me about the results or only send a letter?

Dr Seal has been on holiday, which could explain the delay that you’ve been experiencing.

Dr Lorimer’s Twitter post:Dr Leighton Seal on holiday for three weeks, so possible delays in some of the non-urgent endocrine elements of GenderCare until mid-August.

I’m afraid I’m not sure of the average waiting time when he’s not away and hasn’t accumulated a backlog, any followers able to give an idea?

for the Coxon/Seal anon, I have an appointment with Dr Coxon arranged for September and it will be carried out over Zoom. Originally there was no talk of how the appointment would go ahead (face to face or remotely) but I recieved an email explaining that it would be remotely. I’m unsure about Dr Seal but I know he was definitely taking remote appointments as of earlier this year

Semi-urgent? I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced a delay in getting a report from Dr Seal. I saw him in April and send off some blood test results he wanted (and got confirmation that they were received), but haven't heard anything re. the report. I sent an email at the start of May to ask about it and his secretary said she was hoping to get to it in the next few days, but I've still heard nothing? Quite anxious as it contains info about me swapping T meds and stuff. Thanks!

They seem to have a bit of backlog at the moment to get through but if it’s urgent and you still haven’t heard anything then it might be worth chasing it up again.

Hi, I had my first private appointment with Dr Seal and he wants to see me again to talk about switching to nebido, would this be classed as a follow up appointment? It says on the gendercare website the price for first appointment and follow up and I would like to know which one it will be just so I know how much it will cost. Thanks

Yes, this should be classed as a follow-up appointment.

For the anon worried about being overweight - I had a BMI of 36 when I got hormones, and Dr Seal didn't bat an eye. He didn't even mention it until I brought it up with regard surgery. Then he said that some surgeons would want it down to about 30, but he didn't seem too concerned about it. No worries at all for hormones.
