I just realised that I forgot to post my favourite drawing from the last Dr Sketchy’s session! I was really happy with this one, I can’t believe I left it out! Thank you again Killjoy the Show for an amazing night.
I am looking forward to the next session. I’m starting to miss my more regular classes. It will be great to have a night of fun art again soon.

At the last Dr Sketchy’s life drawing session we had the pleasure of having 3 amazing performers from Killjoy the Show as our models. Not only that but they had their band live on stage with them to perform! Their song with accompanying acrobatics/dance was incredible.
I’m still enjoying my watercolor pencil sketch experiments for the longer poses but I am keeping with my trusty black colored pencil for all the quick drawings. Sadly I wasn’t fast enough to capture much of the dazzling piñata-like beauty hanging from her aerial silks.

Every Dr Sketchy’s event is wonderful and totally unlike any other drawing class. I tried to explain it to my friends as “Burlesque-like Performance Art Event with Audience Participation and Some Drawing”! Its more important that everyone is having a good time experiencing art and making art than studying form and improving technique.
The last session was truly incredible and fun in the unique way only Dr Sketchy’s Melbourne art parties can be! Thank you Mel, Agent Cleave and Dandrogyny for an amazing night :)

Last month's Dr Sketchy's session featured the unique and beautiful performer and event-maker, BAM BAM. She was like a cocktail of Rock n Roll danger, sideshow humour with burlesque grace.
One of my drawing (Her reclining in the "Eyes"costume) ended up winning the art book prize "Metamorphosis 1&2"from the our hosts BeinArt Gallery. I'd like to think it was meant as lovely early birthday present.
