Meet Yori!
long time no see! Today i wanna introduce you to an oc of mine for a show which i finished in 2 weeks: Yori Yoshitaka for the Anime/ Manga "Dr Stone". Yori was created from a sketch in which i tried to cover the artstyle of Boichi and this way my first sketch of hers (ofc a lot changed):
After the sketch i named her Yori (=trustworthy) and created a little story about her.
Yori is a childhood aquaintance of Tsukasa and the first girl to get revived by him. She was under training as a pharmacist when the world turned to stone - hence why she has high knowledge of medicine. Her grandparents had a pharmacy back in japan and after moving to the landside of japan with her parents (close to her grandparents) she started helping them out at the age of 9. Her grandparents pharmacy was specialized in naturopathy.
In season 1 and 2 she's part of Tsukasas inner circle. At some point in the storyline people referr to her as "the empress" or "tsukasas wife". Tsukasa and her are friends, but she feels a distance to him due to their different views on humanity. Yori believes that humanity sucks but everybody deserves a chance - in secret she dislikes that Tsukasa destroys the statues and murdered Senku. That's not the good-hearted boy she befriended as a young girl.
Having her own little pharmacy in Tsukasas Empire she often needs help in creating medicine. Therefore Tsukasa sends her gen - Gen is forced to help her. But helping Yori is a chill job for him. Having to spend time with Yori is more stressfull to him. On the one side many men are mad at Gen for being able to spend time with the beauty. And on the other side Gen doesn't know how to talk with Yori. Yori is not a very talkactive person.
Prior to the world turning into stone Yori was mute due to biological reason. After being revived she didn't try to talk - she was used to being mute and communicating without her voice.
Gen is the first to get her to talk. He got her to scream at him, which confused Yori. Not knowing what to do with this information she decided to only talk to Gen with her voice and rely on other communication with the others. Even though they would never admit it, they enjoyed being in each others company. So when Grn thinks about betraying tsukasa, Yori senses it but doesn't intervene. She gives Gen a bottle of high concentrated alcohol (in case somebody of his party gets injured) and wishes him good luck.
After Gen left, Yori is visited by Hyoga often in autumn - he tries to torture her to hurt Tsukasa but she keeps quiet before Tsukasa. She also is visited by Ukyo often in her pharmacy, but decides herself to visit Homura on her mission to observe the village (even gifting Tomura some medicine and bringing her warm soup to not get cold).
When the events of stone wars unfold Yori is said to be on Tsukasas side - signaling him to visit the grave (which in secret distracs him from the hole). But when she sees Senku and realizes that Tsukasa didn't murder him Yori is relieved and thanks Senku in front of Tsukasa. Upon hearing that the statues can be fixed and revived, it's like a heavy burden is taken from her shoulders. Tsukasa didn't murder somebody. Tsukasas soul can be saved. Yori swears loyalty to Senkus kingdom and joins the Kingdom of Science.
Nickname: "Dr. Trust" and "Yoyo"
After Hygoa tried to murder Tsukasa and Tsukasa is frozen, Yori promises to do whatever it takes to get him back. She joins the crew on the ship and is one of the three people (besides Suika and Ginro) the escape the petrifaction after being discovered by the people living on the island. When Ginro and Kohako try to infiltrate the palast she joins them (makeup covering her stone marks). She battles Moz with Kohaku and then flees from the palast after Kohaku and Ginro are getting petrified.
In season 4 Yori is part of the defense team, helping Senku to recover and escorting Luna to the others.
