Hello Tumblr dot com, outside of memes I haven’t posted about Dr. Silverstein in ages. But finally, I have a proper post again. I renewed her reference. Now featuring a snippet of a thing she says in my writing.
I should be adding some info about her for the newcomers, so read up under the cut if you want to!
Dr. Silverstein is known for her straight-to-the-point attitude when it comes to work, but is described as too unbothered by the horrors she encounters, as well as incredibly reckless, though mainly unphased, as she tends to have one-on-one conversations with anomalies as opposed to keeping guards with her. While she’s able to keep it together at work for the most part, her sometimes intense mood swings and reoccurring depressive lows have been reason enough for her therapy sessions to be bi-weekly rather than monthly. Even though Dr. Silverstein is an efficient worker, she prioritizes only getting her work done rather than help out anywhere else. Notorious for being unnecessarily blunt and cocky at times, Dr. Silverstein exclusively does what’s stated in her job description and demands a raise every time something new that isn’t listed verbatim is expected of her. Despite being annoying to a degree, Dr. Silverstein has earned a lot of respect from her coworkers. Dr. Silverstein is to see Dr. Glass biweekly every Friday.
Dr. Silverstein was forcibly employed in the Foundation in 2016 after an investigation was conducted in her apartment due to suspected presence of anomalous objects, which was confirmed to be factual. Along with the anomalous presences that remain classified, notes of said anomaly were discovered that detailed exhaustive descriptions and analyses of whatever she saw.
Since Dr. Silverstein was in the middle of completing her PhD in biology at the time, she was brought into the Foundation and given the opportunity to complete her PhD. To make her ready for the job, she was initially employed as Dr. Hamms assistant, who, at the time, was the head researcher in the case of SCP-049. In her job as an assistant, she contributed notes, analysis and overall support. Because of what was required of her to know, she had a change in career from biology to cryptobiology.
Following Dr. Hamms death on April 16th 2017, Dr. Silverstein was put in charge of the case of SCP-049. Since then, Dr. Silverstein has continued to work for the Foundation despite the hardships and grudges against the Organisation and is currently the Director of Euclid management and the Head of the Cryptobiology branch.
