so I finally got my approval from OHIP for coverage of top surgery, and it seems the default surgeon for it is that one in Montreal. I'm having trouble finding any reviews for their top surgery work, could you help me find some? post-op pics would be especially helpful. also, if you could outline the pros and cons you might know about regarding them vs. Dr. McLean, I would really appreciate it. thanks!

I wasn’t able to find any when I was given my approval either. Maybe there are some followers who have had surgery with Dr. Brassard or Dr. Bélanger in Montreal? 

I had decided to go with Dr. McLean because I’ve seen a lot of his work and liked the results that I saw. A Con for Dr. McLean is that OHIP will only cover the mastectomy portion of the surgery, not any chest contouring. So if you decide that you’d like to have that it’s an extra $2000.

Finally coming to be me

Im very proud to say that i went to Montreal on November 23rd in 2015. It was a very amazing experience and just overall a great hospital.

My surgeon was Dr. Bélanger of GRS Montréal. She was very friendly and professional and I would recommend her to anyone looking for mastectomy with free nipple grafts.

I am insure of cost and such because i was covered by OHIP(ontario health insurance program).

My experience was amazing. They treat the patients very well and respectfully. The food was good; just as well as the company, something no one ever cares to elaborate on sadly. In the recovery home of GRS Montréal there something from 6 to 7 room and about 10 beds. Some being shaired with room mates. While i was there i met some amazing people from varying ages. Many were mtf and two others being ftm like myself. It was very cool to meet all those people and I really wish i could go back and try to remain in contact with some of them.

The surgery was excellent and I was in little to no pain. 0 being impossible apperently and 10 being where you would probably pass out or be crying your eyes out; I was saying 0.5.

I am very happy with my results and will be sharing soon.

I was doing research last night on how to get top in NS cause my family doctor had no idea and I forgot to ask Dr. gee (the endo) when I went to see her and I found awesome news!! See in NS top is covered by the province (since April 2014 I think) but you have to travel out of province for it because the closest person who can do it is in Quebec, (seems like this would add to costs but NS has an out of province travel coverage thing so bam! less spent getting there) Anyway, I was originally told that I had to be on T for a year before I could get top but I found the referral form and that is not the case so next time I see Dr. Gee I’m going to get her to sign the damn form and I’ll be one step closer to getting this bs off my chest!!!! Let the count down begin!
