Doctor Blight

A founding member of the Eco-Villains, Dr. Barbara Blight is a brilliant scientist who has pledged to stop at nothing in her quest to take over the planet.  Blight believes that the advancement of technology is far more important than the general health of the earth. Blight cares not that her many experiments have brought about ecological devastation.  As such, her dangerous endeavors have put her into regular conflict with Captain Planet and the Planteers.

At one point, Dr. Blight experimented on herself as part of an effort to augment her physical being.  The operation went awry resulting in the left side of her face becoming horribly scarred (along with the loss of sight in her left eye).  To obscure her wounds (and hide the failure of her technological prowess) Blight always maintains her hair in such a way that it fully covers the left side of her face.    

Blight created a sophisticated artificial intelligence named Mal that resides within a portable computer that is never far from her person.  Blight and Mal are inseparable and ostensively act as husband and wife.  

Actresses Meg Ryan and Mary Kay Bergman have provided the voice for the villainess.  Dr. Blight first appeared in the fifth episode of the first season of Captain Planet and the Planeteers, airing on October 13th, 1990.

Dr. Blight from Captain Planet and the Planeteers was a great villain. She was a cross between a old time mad scientist and Two Face. Meg Ryan, of all people, provided her voice.

Well, guys. Here he is! My first ever Villainous OC! Meet Dr. Blight. A mad scientist who experiments on radiation and nuclear energy.

He was once a brilliant radiologist that was hoping to manipulate the power of nuclear energy for everyone in the world to use it as cheap, renewable energy, and cheap electricity. However, the experiment went wrong and he was completely engulfed in nuclear radiation obliterating him in the process.

Everyone thought he was dead... Until by some miracle he survived. But he is now a walking nuclear reactor. Seeing that his life is now destroyed, he strives to use his powers to build the experiment again but this time it's going to do more harm than good... He is now a blight among the super heroes.

Dr. Blight belongs to me.

OK KO HAS WHAT

Okay, sure, the episode is called "The Power is Yours"

But I didn't ACTUALLY think it'd be, you know, Captain Planet stuff.

But here we are, the literal Dr. Blight and Mal show up. Like, not even pastiches, parodies, or send ups, her title card on the show is literally "Dr. Blight: Eco-terrorist".

What does that mean for the rest of the episode? The power rings? Gaia? Captain Planet himself!?
