I spent much of the day at home working on apps again until about five when I was supposed to be meet my good friend at Gangnam for Dr. Fish. I ended up about an hour late though because I ended up taking the Line 9 train going in the opposite direction, causing me to take a complete detour around the city, lolol. Whoops.
I forgot exactly how many shops and people there were in Seoul. I knew I was blown away by how many cars there are, but when I got out of Gangnam station, oh man. All those shops along the station exit, all those people bustling about trying to get where they needed to go. I felt so suffocated and uncomfortable trying to weave our way out of there. There was a line to walk up the stairs to the exit we needed to leave from. Multiple lines! It's crazy. There's seriously no room to think or breathe here!
Note: Namugeuneul, which is the cafe that has Dr. Fish, is totally not by exit #6 as some websites have it listed, but actually exit #10. It is, as correctly listed by said websites, the entrance a little after the Krispy Kreme which should pop up!
So when we arrived there after braving being lost in the rain for about a good thirty minutes, my friend and I got super excited when we noticed that the cafe sold bubble milk tea, which felt to us like a little chip from back home. Unfortunately it didn't taste anything like the one back home, but we still appreciated that it was here!
The bubble milk tea, pomegranate iced tea (super sweet @_@), and waffle with caramel and whipped cream (nomnom)!
They also gave out an unlimited assortment of bread at the bread bar! I was always too slow to get anything though because all the bread usually got snatched up before I realized they restocked the bar. @_@ hahaha.
So by the time it was time to try out the Dr. Fish portion of the cafe (apparently only accessible once all beverages and food are consumed), my friend and I walked over to the pool expecting tiny little fish who would nibble neatly away at our feet.
Yeah, those weren't tiny fish.
The way these fish nommed at my skin tickled my feet so much that I couldn't last more than ten seconds without having to jerk my legs out of the pool the first round. My friend and I spent the majority of the allotted 15 minutes trying to contain our shrieks and snorts from finding the stimulation to be too great and the situation to be completely sad and hilarious at the same time. We eventually realized that our heels were the only part of our feet we could somewhat withstand, hahahah. It didn't help that my friend just wouldn't keep her feet in the pool either which made all the fish (there were probably more than twenty in there) maul mine instead. I wish I had the video that my friend took. They were like piranhas that had just discovered a new kill, only with less teeth and more desperation. D8
Considering how it was only 2000 won (<$2) with a drink (~5000-8000 won) I don't think I'll forget the feeling of my feet being swarmed and tickled like that anytime soon, ahahaha. Seriously, I think I probably left marks on my friend's arm from squeezing it so much that night, eep.
