we the fandom are graciously gifted the concept of half-friendship, which i feel we will continue to get incredible mileage out of till the end of days (and look how pleased shaofei is to have come up with it! this is the face of a man who knows he’s just had an amazing idea but doesn’t even have an inkling of how well it’s going to work out for him)
there’s fuckin’ slomo in the jogging scene because of course there is and shaofei’s dumb hair is flopping up and down and it’s stupid and perfect and i love it
jack and zhao zi talk about his grandma! jack’s offended that zz thinks thai food is better than his instant noodles!! zz’s smile lights up the entire world!!! (sidenote: this post about this scene is what got me to finally watch the show, thanks @stebeee!)
shaofei and hong ye run into each other while dr. jiang is treating tang yi’s bullet graze and we get to see them interact for the first time. up till now we’ve just heard hong ye dissing him to tang yi at every opportunity, but now we get to see them antagonize each other in person, and even this early on it’s clear that they have amazing bickering sibling chemistry!!
episode 7 has humor, character work, and important developments in both the main romantic pairings, PLUS favorite secondary characters hong ye, andy, and dr. jiang all make appearances! what’s not to love?!
