Vincent Price in Dr. Phibes Rises Again (1972)
This is Number 25 in a series of 25, 26, or so bits of holiday nonsense that I've put together over the years. 🙂
Vincent Price in “The Abominable Dr. Phibes” (1971) and “Dr. Phibes Rises Again” (1972)
Phibes seeks revenge against those he holds responsible for the death of his wife. suffering from an unnamed disease she died on the operating table.
Phibes kills the doctors and nurse he blames for her ‘murder’. Each death is based on one of the ten plagues of Egypt as described in Exodus. After completing his task Phibes self-embalms and seals himself in a tomb with his wife.
Being dead is no reason to halt a profitable story so American International made a sequel.

Vincent Price Appreciation Post
Missouri born Vincent Price is an iconic name in the American film industry. Best known for his roles in horror films, Price’s uniquely haunting voice is just as legendary as fellow horror legend Sir Christopher Lee’s. Like many great actors, Price first began his acting career on the stage, staring in his first production in 1935. Below are just a select few of the many films that Price starred in.
The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex(1939)
Hudson’s Bay(1941)
The Song of Bernadette(1943)
Laura(1944)
Dragonwyck(1946)
Moss Rose(1947)
The Three Musketeers(1948)
Adventures of Captain Fabian(1951)
House of Wax(1953)
The Son of Sinbad(1955)

Thankyou, Vincent Price, for almost six decades of wonderful acting.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, VINCENT PRICE!

An illustration I made, depicting Dr. Phibes setting some fire to his adversary's wax bust to commemorate Vincent Price's 101th birthday while his loyal assistant, Vulnavia [Valli Kemp], plays some appropiate tune on her violin.
