Jack Torrance With A S/O Headcanons
A/N: Here are some headcanons of what it's like to be in a relationship with Jack! :D
Jack had mixed feelings about dating again.
He was divorced after marriage was falling apart, his ex-wife got custody of their son, and he wasn't sure if he wanted to go down that road again.
But, eventually, he decided to go ahead and have a romantic relationship with you.
Coffee dates and long nights at his place were common.
He would often ring your phone, just to hear your voice and ask about your day, even though he's mostly listening in the conversation. However, he isn't gonna be an open book, so you'll have to gain his trust if he wants to share something serious or vulnerable with you.
Months later, you and Jack were officially a serious couple.
If you are extroverted, you're gonna have to get used to his need for quiet spaces and wanting to be alone at times. He, as the caretaker and writer, has to focus on his responsibilities and doesn't have time for loud noises, or a S/O who's gonna be a chatter box 24/7.
If you are introverted, then congratulations, you're a perfect match for him.
When it comes to affection, it depends on his mood. If he's in a good mood, he'll bring you gifts or knick-knacks that remind him of you. For example, a cute keychain he'd bring or a book collection you wanted so badly. When he's in a bad mood, he gets quiet, distant, cold even, but will still try to be affectionate, but don't count on it.
Now let's talk about his temper.
Jack tries not to yell at you or throw a tantrum because he knows that it will start an argument, or silent treatment between you two. Unfortunately, that's rarely the case.
He yells, you get offended, and neither of you will speak to each other. Not until someone steps up and acknowledges the issue. Not to mention he is stubborn and doesn't like to be in the wrong. Even though he was the one who started the argument.
But, don't worry, he'll come to his own terms before giving an awkward apology. He looks away before muttering, "I didn't... mean to yell at ya', I'm sorry."
He would reach out and grab your wrist gently, staring at you with a rare softness in his hazel eyes.
He doesn't want to admit it but he loves your way of affection. A small smile appears on his face when you put down a tray of food on his desk, knowing his need to concentrate before leaving the lounge quietly. Or when you snuggle him, holding him in your arms, causing him to feel annoyed but deep down, it makes him love you more.
Jack would slide his arms around your figure, burying his face in your neck as he whispered, "I don't know how I deserve you, nor know how you put up with me, but one thing is for sure, I love ya darlin'."
Jack is a man of many mistakes and flaws, but in the end, he loves you.
