Found your Danganronpa OCs and I'M IN LOVE WITH THE ART FOR THEM! Assuming you haven't talked about them yet, can I hear more about Polaris by any chance?

Getting it out of the way: Polaris is also the Ultimate Soldier. And yes, she’s part of a mercenary group. I know, I know, Mukuro. But she doesn’t exist in this universe, so it shouldn’t matter, we don’t have to bring it up. Okay? Okay.

She go in involved with the mercenary group young, very young. At first it was just so she would have people that would look out for her as she grew up, as her only biological family then was her uncle who joined the group. Growing up, the group sort of became her family as they traveled and helped any population of people that needed protection. It was through these experiences that she developed an inherent need to help people. But she still has to learn that not everyone can be helped with violence and can have their problems solved with just like….chatting. She’s working on it.

As she got older, she learned more about being on the battlefield and was trained to fight with weapons. With that, and all of the knowledge she learned from observing her group in action, she became a pretty skilled fighter very quickly, moving more towards the frontlines with every new mission.

Also important backstory detail! She was very close to her uncle, and he became like father figure to her. He was the main one that taught her everything she knows and he as kind of like her only tie to her life before the constant fighting and running. So she had a very hard time after he was killed during one of their missions. But she had no time to mourn in the moment because she was in the middle of something important. Maybe that experience will shape how she approaches the killing game idk!!!! Haha!!

While she may come off as very stoic and serious, she is very awkward and nervous to talk to people. She didn’t grow up around a lot of teenagers, especially other teenage girls. That and the hostile environment she’s grown accustomed to has led to her being disconnected from other people her age. She’s also just naturally shy with everyone.

But she wants to make friends! She wants to so bad! It was the main reason she accepted the invite to the academy and was okay with leaving her home and group for a little while. She even tried to research on things that people her age like these days. She’s very determined to make at least one friend!

I wonder how that goal will clash with the instant defense mode that activates in her when she finds herself in the killing game.

Ultimate street artist ?? Tell me more about them please !!! (it's kinda funny because i have an OC who's the Ultimate street fighter lolol )

Ultimate Street Fighter??? That sounds fun!! And yeah, it is kinda funny.

But anyways! Sour Patch!

I feel like Sour Patch had one of the more “normal” upbringings in the cast. He wasn’t born into a cult or raised by a mercenary group. He just kinda grew up in a big family with a lot of siblings.

Being the middle sibling in a chaotic household, he was left to his own devices a lot of the time. He was quiet and didn’t like to bother his parents or siblings with his problems, so he turned to his imagination and a pencil and a piece of paper. Art became his main form of expression at a young age, but he was still very shy and didn’t let anyone see his work due to the fear of being judged.

A friend of his was actually already into street art and tagging when he first heard about it. He visited their workshop a couple of times and tried out painting with things like spray cans and stencils while he was there. He found he quite liked it and visited more and more often to do it more. It was then that his friend was basically like “if you like doing this stuff so much, why don’t you try tagging something with me?” It took a lot of convincing (because doing something like that was WAY out of his comfort zone), but he eventually caved and went out that night.

He realized that night, that the process of doing street art and breaking the rules felt sort of liberating to him. Being the quiet, “good” kid of the family left people not expecting much from him. So him going behind everyone’s back to do something no one would’ve even thought twice of him being capable of made him a little excited. And it was fun. Boy, was it fun.

What he didn’t expect was for his piece to generate some buzz the next day. Pictures of it ended up on social media, people were talking about it at his school, it was even covered by a local news station. He may have let his ambition and emotional high get the better of him, and his piece was much grander than he remembered it being. Best part, no one knew it was him. People talked about this mysterious artist like some sort of vigilante with a secret identity, and he felt great about it. That way, he can still be the normal quiet kid in the day time.

So he went out again and again. And he painted again and again. And his art got people’s attention again and again, each time more than the last. All while convincing his family that nothing was going on. He loved it.

He actually has no idea how the academy found out it was him doing the street art, but he still found an invitation in his mailbox to enroll as the Ultimate Street Artist. At first, he didn’t want to go for fear of leaving his hometown behind and being found out as the mysterious street artist, but his friend also convinced him to go. He had talent, and it would be stupid to reject an opportunity to share it more. He did, after some phone calls with the school to make sure they kept his identity a secret. And he told his family that was actually scouted as the Ultimate Lucky Student through forging a fake letter of invitation.

It was great, and all going to plan. But he didn’t take the killing game into account.

Ooo, fascinating! Two outta three sibling pairs,, now I’ve GOTTA hear about the third 👀

Oh, that’s Fangs and Ivy! Surely, I didn’t make it too obvious…

I don’t know how the other sibling pairs are gonna work in terms of ages. The Jupiter/Wind Chime and Hurricane/Aviator pairs were a year apart originally, but then how could they be in the same grade level if being held back/skipping a grade didn’t occur? I’m trying to figure that out. But Fangs and Ivy are twins! They were always twins. I love them being twins.

They were estranged twins for a while. Actually, the killing game was sort of their reunion after half a decade of not seeing each other.

Without getting too deep into it, they were born in a sort of secluded community. A religious community, I guess you could say. Their mother is out of the picture and their father is the sort of patriarch of their town. They don’t communicate with outsiders often and most of their education and labor revolves around their religion…

It’s a cult. They were born into a cult.

I don’t really want to get too caught up in that aspect of it, but that plays a big factor into their character’s and backstories, especially Ivy.

But the reason they’re estranged is because Fangs managed to escape and live in the real world for a while. It took some getting used to, but she now feels like a full-fledged member of society. And her one goal since then was to get her brother out of that situation as well. So she got to investigating and researching her old home. And she may have solved some other related cases along the way, which got her a whole lot of attention. That’s why she got scouted. She’s in that sort of Ultimate Detective field. And she’d be lying if she said she welcomed the attention. In reality, it just takes time away from what she’s trying to do.

Ivy, on the other hand, is like the mandatory “heir” ultimate of the cast. He’s (reluctantly) working to be his father’s successor and take leadership of the community when he’s of age. He’s already idolized by the population there because of his blindness. (If I didn’t mention it or make it clear, he’s blind). They think that his blindness gives him some sort of heightened supernatural abilities from their god (like he was chosen or something), and believe that their god would reward him for serving them by granting him his sight when he becomes leader.

But that’s very far from the truth. He’s actually just disabled and is having a lot of trouble trying to communicate that. Growing up with these people has lead him to having a sort of fucked up soft spot for them. But it can only go so far because of what he’s endured.

But maybe things can change when they reunite in the killing game.

Hmmhmmm,, I’m very curious about the little clown fella (Jupiter) and Hurricane! Anything u can share about them?

WHY ARE YOU LITERALLY BEING THE BEST RIGHT NOW??!?????!?!!! letting me talk about my silly little guys.

okay, Jupiter!

(you’re right, they are a clown. not literally, they’re just a goober).

Jupiter has a fun predicament when it comes to their ultimate, because they technically share one. They and their brother, Wind Chime, are both considered the Ultimate Illusionist. Because it takes both of them for their tricks to work and for their shows to be successful. You simply just can’t call one of them the ultimate in their field.

While Wind Chime is more on the technical side of the process, working with utmost precision to make sure tricks work, Jupiter is a much more natural entertainer. (But that doesn’t mean they’re not good at the illusions themselves. They’re still talent there, don’t you forget it.) They live to make people have a good time. They can even be so determine to make that happen, that they can come across as a little annoying to certain people.

But they’re just silly, and they stay silly.

It’s also because of this that they get a majority of the attention from audiences and fans. People just find them more presentable and friendly. They try their best to steer some of the attention toward their brother, for his sake as well as theirs. Being surrounded by that many people all the time is bound to weigh down on someone. But they can’t complain. And they won’t complain. Ever.

But maybe some isolation in the academy and away from the crowds will do them some good.

And now Hurricane…. I’m going to try my best to explain his character without spoiling anything. He’s very much tied to the plot, if that already isn’t giving away anything.

To explain him, I have to delve into his dynamic with his brother, Aviator. (how lucky that you indirectly asked for two out of three of my sibling pairs).

And I think I can do that by saying that Hurricane’s the Ultimate Actor and Aviator’s the Ultimate Playwright. It just writes itself.

They have a pretty “Hollywood-dream” type of upbringing. To down on their luck kids without a penny to their names move to a big city in hopes of getting a job. A lot of hard work and even more luck later and they become one of the most well known writer/actor duos in their country.

Actually a big thing they debate (fight) amongst themselves about is who made the other famous. Did Aviator give Hurricane his big break with his writing, or did Hurricane give Aviator his big break with his acting? The world may never known because they’re both just so talented in their respective fields. A little too talented

Now, to zero in on Hurricane a little. He kind of grew up into a little bit of a diva, but a nice one, from what the people hear. People insist that he actually has a big heart under all the glitz and glam. He has to have one if how he acts during press interviews and just in the general public is indicative of anything.

People also tend to like him because he’s pretty and charming. He’s just so nice you guys, believe me. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with him. He’s even going to a prestigious academy under the title of the Ultimate Actor. How cool is that?

Wonder how that killing game treats him?
