Hey Kate! I'm so excited your drabble's are open again 😁 I've been having some rotten luck on the dating scene because I'm asexual... Wondered if you could do one with either Bucky/Steve or all the avengers just comforting reader about it and then collectively treating her to nice dates and cuddles and stuff? 🥺
Absolutely, babes! Here you go, love.
You walked back into your apartment and threw your keys into the bowl by the door. You kicked your shoes off and huffed. “I’m never leaving this house again.”
“Well, that sounds bleak.”
You screamed and nearly jumped out of your skin. You looked over to see Bucky smirking from your kitchen with his hand in a box of Cheez-itz.
“What is wrong with you, Bucky?” You threw your bag at him. “You don’t even live here!”
He dodged it and chuckled. “We all live here, this is the tower. Also your door was open and I ran out of snacks, so.”
You rolled your eyes.
“How was your date?”
You brushed past him and shook your head. “How about we don’t talk about that. And I'll just go and die alone.”
He followed you to your living room and sat beside you on the couch. “Yikes, that bad, huh?”
You looked at him with an expression that begged him to drop it.
He looked at you hard and then nodded. “I’m sorry.”
You sighed.
“Tell you what,” he hopped up from the couch and headed to the door. “I’m gonna pick you up tomorrow at six, okay?”
“Bucky, I-”
“Nope. Be ready.” He smiled and left before you could say anything else.
* * * * * *
You were waiting by the door when Bucky knocked and swung it open. You were met with flowers and a stupid grin.
“What are you doing?” you asked him.
He laughed. “I’m taking you out.”
“Out of my misery?”
“Cheeky. But no. I’m taking you to dinner.”
You took the flowers and took them to your kitchen to find a vase. “Bucky,” you started to whine, “I’m done with dates.”
“It’s not a date, it’s dinner.” He grinned.
You cut him a look.
“Listen, you need a win and you’re my best friend. Plus!” He smiled wider. “I can guarantee that you will have a good night.”
“Guarantee, huh?”
He made an ex on his chest. “Cross my heart.”
“What are we eating?” you asked.
“Tacos.”
You weren’t sure if it was his smile or the tacos but you finally caved. “Fine.”
“Perfect,” he beamed. “One thing, though, before we go,” he opened his arms. “Can I give you a hug?”
You genuinely smiled. “Yeah.”
He pulled you into his arms. “I know you’ve had it rough for a while. I’m sorry. But it will turn around one day, but until then, I’m here and I’m just one floor above you so if you have a bad day don’t sulk in here alone, okay, come find me.”
