However, it is a colloquial term used to describe a gift or gesture that a person gives to another (often partner or spouse) as a peace offering, typically after an argument; or when they feel they have done something wrong. Drachenfutter is very close to my heart💞

1. What inspired you to write the fic this way?

- i think for me at the time, i really wanted to express the intimacy of the moment and how private a declaration of love from Tobirama really would be. at that time in 2020 when i posted the fic, i was still trying to get a grasp on his character and wanted to set him in a pov where there wasn’t angst or stress, just calm, fulfilling love

5. What part was hardest to write?

- oh god, okay so DF is two parts right? so i’m so awkward about nsfw so that was definitely the hardest part to write bc yes i still giggle at things like “duty” and get uncomfortable about talking about nsfw 😬😂

7. Where did the title come from?

- oh !! so i write the fics before i go searching for words to title them with, and the definition i found of drachenfutter is older and i felt like it fit the general tone of the fic bc of how gentle and thoughtful his words and actions are in the fic. i was later informed, however, by my friend that a “drachenfutter” is more like a gift given to an angry spouse to placate them in modern times 😂
