Drew another Rolen because I love my boy
What advice would you give to someone making their own Draco-Elf and who's new to DnD?
I’m new myself as Rolen is my first character and this is my first campaign so my advice isn’t the best but I will try and be clear and concise with how I went about making a Draco-Elf.
When I made Rolen I decided that he’d get his looks more from one side and his traits from the other, to balance out his genes. In his case he has more Elven features (age, skin, hair, body build, majority of his main features) with a few Dragonborn features thrown in (scales, horns, claws, 3 fingers, height, and one Dragonborn eye). On the flip side I gave him Dragonborn traits as his main ones (breath weapon and damage resistance) with special Half-Elf traits like language, which is why he has such a long list of languages he can speak (and being a Homebrew we decided that an Artisan instead of a Guild Artisan worked best for his background so this is why I went and used the Half-Elf bonus language trait). I also decided to go with an Artisan and switched out an ability for Linguist because with his low Charisma it means that Rolen lacks social skills, so I decided to apply that to a book translator and avid reader so that his use of language isn’t a complete waste. What makes all this work though is that this is a Homebrew campaign with our sweety of a DM @frootloopstruggle who helped us along the whole character creation process (because a few of us *coughcough* are completely new to this and need help with baby steps).
So tldr; ALWAYS consult with your DM (asking for help goes a long way), and try and match your traits, features, and background/story into a nice cohesive mix.
*Channels inner Griffin McElroy* NEW BOI NEW BOI The strawberry blonde rude boi Doctor Kastor Fleming. I'm about to start a D&D session and i've already made like my favorite NPC. A draco elf medical doctor w a poor attitude that is absolute not dealing w anyone's shiz he stg. He's nerdy but with a special kind of a-hole quality and I love him dearly. ----Z
