C O N G R A T U L A T I O NS ,  H A N N A H  !

Hello and welcome to the National Park’s fourth Member of the Month (MOTM) feature!  Our goal for these is to spotlight individuals and brag about their accomplishments and talents.  Let’s get started.

We all know that person who’s incredibly fun to talk to.  Not only that, but they’re the life of the party, bringing laughter and smiles to everyone they meet.  They’re sunshine on a cloudy day, they make you want to sing in the rain, and they are the best dang person on your friend’s list (other than your best friends).  In the National Park, Hannah suits this role to an ‘F.’  The ‘F’ stands for friend!

What is there to say about Hannah that doesn’t prove she’s absolutely amazing?  Ever since she joined back in December, Hannah somehow wormed her delightful way into our hearts.  Her spunky, bubbly personality is only matched by that of her muses, Lyra and Iris, whom she plays with aplomb.  She shows us just how three-dimensional these two lovely girls are in all of her threads, as well as in meme responses!

Hannah’s writing is not to be ignored either: she truly brings her scenes alive when she writes them with creative, descriptive language.  It draws you in and gets you excited for what’s going to happen next—not to mention, want to hang out with her two girls a little bit more!  They’re adorable, just like she is.

Off of the dashboard, Hannah is an absolute delight to talk to.  Whether you’re plotting with her or just hanging out, you’ll have a wonderful time doing it.  Her sense of humor is great and brings a lively element to our Discord chat, and honestly I couldn’t imagine our community without her.  It’s so easy to tell that Hannah truly cares for all of her fellow members!  Seeing her have fun with everyone is truly a treat.

So here’s to you, Hannah!  Thank you for being a valuable part of our group.  You really do make it a wonderful place to be.   Live long and prosper, and continue to melt all our hearts!

33 & 34!

33. Do they drink? Take drugs? What about their health?

{Gilbert doesn’t do drugs (crack is wack) but he does probably drink a lot.  He’s only just recently been old enough to drink thanks to Unova’s bs drinking laws (it’s WAS LEGAL FOR HIM TO DRINK IN KALOS WHEN HE WAS 16 THIS IS BULLSHIT–).  Hey, he just wants to drink.  He doesn’t care for a lot of drinks but he’ll still drink it tho, he’ll still drink it.  He’s gotta.  He’s not an alcoholic by any means but if you ask him to go out drinking he’s not gonna say no, you know?

Health is probably pretty good?  He doesn’t really take care of himself too well.  He’s almost averse to seeing doctors.  He doesn’t like to worry and he always thinks he could just deal with whatever issue he’s got LMAO which isn’t great.  He’s kind of freaked out by hospitals, as a side note.  But eh, doctor’s visits are a pain and it’s DIFFERENT cause UNOVA (and now Alola) are different from KALOS but whatever.  He’s probably pretty healthy.}

34. Does your character feel self-righteous? Revengeful? Contemptuous?

{Brother can be self-righteous and revengeful.  He believes strongly in a lot of things and he kind be a total dick about it, sort of self-righteous.  But he’s far more revengeful.  He’s not contemptuous really, but boy if he gets pissed off at you he kind of wants to be petty and spiteful and get you back, you know?  Like that’s literally why he’s in Alola right now LMAO.  Because he wants to spite Buddy and do something cool and be way better than him.  To be fair, Emile encouraged him but like, a lot of it was him.}

As soon as she’d learned she won the raffle, Iris couldn’t wait to pay a visit to the Radio Tower! The Champion strolled to DJ Mary’s booth, eyes glimmering with excitement. “Is that Charizard in need of a home? I’d love to take her!”

DJ Mary stood in front of the very grumpy Charizard, her hands on her hips.  She leaned forward... and gave the Pokemon a smile.  The Pokemon snorted a puff of smoke in her face, making her cough and sending her whirling backwards.  Okay, so maybe not like that.  Mary cleared her throat and tried again, this time offering Charizard a berry.  Charizard shuffled his wings and turned away.

“Charizard,c’mon... you have to eat something,” she whined.  Still Charizard ignored her.  Mary sighed and left the berry behind him, hoping the Pokemon would eat when she wasn’t around.  His appetite had been declining recently... it wasn’t a good sign.  Mary tried to fake a smile, but could not.  She walked outside into the blistering Hoennese sun.

She wasn’t expecting anyone today, but the young Champion of Unova was always unexpected.  The purple-haired young girl smiled hugely; Mary found herself smiling despite herself.  “Champion Iris!  Hello!”  She hugged the girl in a warm embrace.  “I’m glad you made it.  I have your Pokemon for you; he’s just inside.  He hasn’t been doing too well lately, so I hope you’ll be able to give him a good home.”

Mary led Iris inside and showed her the black Charizard.  The berry she’d placed earlier was gone.  That was a good sign, at least.  “This is Charizard.  He’s a little hard to work with, but that’s not his fault.  His first owner messed up his wings, and severely damaged his growth, which is why Charizard is so small.  The scars on his back are very sensitive, too, and he has a hard time flying.”  Mary looked downcast.  “He can’t fly very high, and long distances are impossible.

“I hope you’ll work with him, Iris.  You’re his only hope.”

Can I get uhhhhhhhhhh extended hiatus on Lyra and Iris? Trying to get everything with my new job sorted out!

Yes, I think you can!  A new job sounds really exciting!  But it also sounds like a lot of work to take care of!  Take this time to do whatever you need to do and settle in to your work!  Lyra and Iris are on hiatus until May 19th.  We’ll see you then.  Good luck with your job!  We’re rooting for you!
