This is Ken’s true form.
Dracomorphs are shapeshifters. This evolved from the need to adapt to a constantly changing environment. However, there are limits to what they can do. Dracomorph’s can’t look like another person. An example is that Ken can become human, but he can’t look like Ben. They can’t become a non living creature. When they become a different species they will mimic the biology as close as they can, but it’s just at face value. They must spend an extended period of time around the species and home planet in order to adapt. Often their internal biology will preform the same functions as the mimicked species but will look very different. As dracomorphs fully break down any consumed organisms they do not form intestines or any other organs needed to process and expel waste. So while Ken is human thanks to this ability he does not use the bathroom.
Where a Dracomorph lives affects how they mature. For example if a Dracomorph went to an ice planet they would adapt to it and gain abilities similar to native species of that planet. If they were to leave to visit a fire planet they would still adapt to it, but they would be at a disadvantage. Any native species it could mimic would always be much weaker. Also they would retain some characteristics from their ice maturity in their mimicry.
Dracomorphs have a conscious crystal. It is the culmination of their being. It is essentially their soul. If that crystal is destroyed they die. However if put under enough stress from the physical body it can shatter (death) or fracture causing trauma to the mind, which can also be reflected in the body. As long as the crystal survives the body can be regenerated. However, they still feel pain and need energy. Most energy is produced by the crystal. It will replenish itself with time and rest, but Dracomprhs can get energy from eating. Those that matured around plants are able to use a form of photosynthesis.
