Okay, I want to keep myself accountable in actually - you know - finishing this stupid story/series that has been haunting me forever. So I’m going to try and post an excerpt from Broken Ashes (no spoilers!) daily as I’m attempting to draft the entire thing at once. (We’ll see how this goes, as I also have 20 other projects on the back-burner. I might flit between Hung and this depending on how things go.)

Taa laughed. "I imagine those caught will make Tarkin's military administration look very good for the holopapers. But you know as well as I, Master Jedi, that the gears of the Republic are oiled by spice, valuable artifacts, and illicit technology...Even the most upstanding politicians have little choice but to get by outside of the official Republic economy." The Senator fixed Obi-wan with a knowing gaze. "Everyone has their price, Master Kenobi. Whether it be in bota, neuranium, or nanotech."
The last word broke Obi-wan out of his trance. "Nanotech?" he echoed, genuinely confused.
Taa paused, seemingly on the brink of saying more before he abruptly slapped his thighs, making an obvious glance at the gigantic chrono on his wrist.
"I'm afraid I have to prepare for another meeting, Master Kenobi," he said as he struggled to his feet, eyes darting to every corner of the room as he escorted Obi-wan to the exit, practically pushing the Jedi out the door.

Your face has come from a Renaissance painting. Curls of hair, soft as your hands in mine. Your lips, barely tinted - the hint of something darker. Your skin is flawless, a porcelain statue. You speak words from a romance novel, full of a passion and honesty that young, eligible women have to search whole countrysides for. Your voice rivals the birds, stops their hearts from the coldness of the jealousy that chokes their throats. Every step you take, eyes follow. Strangers feel like best friends, your magnetism has no limit. You are soft and warm and loving - everything somebody could ask for. But I never asked for you.
