The Drag Idol UK Semi-Finals at Eden - Saturday 30th May

Currently obsessed with RuPaul’s Drag Race, can I get an Amen! So I was really excited when I found out the Drag Idol UK Semi-Finals were being held at Eden and were being hosted by LaVoix with the amazing Michelle Collins as a celebrity judge!

The 4 Queens, in order of appearance were:

Felix Love - serving up some Morticia Adams fish realness.

Ruby Rawbone - Face beat in a blackout, literally.

Krystal Kane - Boudoir Cheesecake realness.

Danny Beard - Man with beard, and a Vivienne Westwood handbag.

Danny Beard won with Krystal Kane the runner up. Danny’s act was definitely the more polished. There was a hilarious double Danny sketch where a ‘random’ member of the audience was fitted with a fake mouth, essentially becoming a ventriloquists puppet, spouting humiliating phrases and lip syncing. Danny was good, but it was blindingly obvious that he had brought an entourage of people with him, shouting, cheering and demanding more. I did think this was a little unfair on the rest of the Queens.

However all of the acts were really entertaining, for some it was only their second appearance on stage, which was really impressive. There was also a lot of variety across the acts which kept things interesting.
