HIGHLIGHTS OF BEST OF THE SUPER JUNIORS 32: NIGHT ONE
I do not like this year's BOSJ theme song or referee t-shirts (yes, this is important).
Kevin Knight on commentary with Chris Charlton was an absolute delight. At one point, he suggested Hiromu "slipped a few yen" to Marty Asami since he was (in Kevin's mind) being far too lenient on Hiromu targeting KUSHIDA's knee. Kevin checked on his Intergalactic Jetsetters' tag partner post match and you could tell they miss each other.
Surprisingly, Nick Wayne got a clean win over SHO from House of Torture.
Kosei Fujita vs Francesco Akira was hands down match of the night. Both of them showed incredible heart and broke out some seriously impressive new moves.
El Desperado vs TITAN was a close second.
Hiromu won his first BOSJ match tonight against KUSHIDA. This is significant because Hiromu has won his opening match during every one of his four BOSJ wins.
TITAN's ring gear was fabulously glitzy. He should definitely win BOSJ best dressed.
The poor young lions were scrambling to shield fans from TITAN and El Despy's high flying moves.
Speaking of El Desperado, his back is still scarred from his hardcore match against Clark Connors.
That, however, did not stop him from finally getting a BOSJ win over TITAN.
Post match, El Desperado threw out a challenge for TITAN to go for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. And of course, TITAN accepted.
Wrestlers who had certain areas brutally targeted in their first match: Dragon Dia (his knee), Nick Wayne (his arm) and KUSHIDA (his knee). Any of these could continue to be a factor throughout the tournament.
Both KUSHIDA and TITAN were forced to submit in their matches, which is very surprising considering their tolerances for pain.
Overall, this year is shaping up to be yet another amazing tournament!

Let’s go Dragon Dia! 🐉💎
