My second original whitework design - dragon doily. There will probably be more embroidered dragons in the future, I've got ideas.

WIP Wednesday
My writing hasn't been happening recently (who knows, maybe today?) but the dragon doily is very close to finished! It only needs some trimming, straching, ironing, ironing again and then probably taking it to my mum to iron one more time because I suck at ironing. But, almost there!
Thank you @suseagull5914 @onthewaytosomewhere @run-for-chamo-miles and @caterpills for tagging me in last weeks 💖Tagging you right back today + everyone who wants to share writing or other crafts! (tag me!)
Today for WIP Wednesday, an update from the dragon doily!
Thank you for tagging me @suseagull5914 @onthewaytosomewhere @run-for-chamo-miles! Leaving an open tag for all kinds of things you work on! (Tag me, so I can see!)
WIP Wednesday
Thank you for tagging me @suseagull5914 @run-for-chamo-miles @firenati0n @14carrotghoul @tintagel-or-cockleshells!
I have no words and I haven't even opened any of my wips in last two weeks *but* I'm on a roll with embroidery!
Here's the most advanced and most complicated of three designs I'm working on (I have no idea when I'll manage to actually embroider all the stuff I've drawn this week). I still want to change some details but it's nearly ready do transfer to fabric!
Tagging back everythone who tagged me in previous weeks to talk about whatever wip you have now and also @onthewaytosomewhere @caterpills @anincompletelist
traffic light tag game
This looks fun! Thank you @caterpills @firenati0n and @suseagull5914 for tagging me!
I'm currently not actively working on any writing because of some bad stuff happening irl that don't allow me to plot in peace, but just yesterday I started working on a new embroidery project!
rules: talk about something creative you're working on of any kind.🚦
green: what is it about, what excited you about it, what sparked the idea?
orange: slow down and share something from it: a photo, a few words, some more background info etc.
red: what is the roadblock currently? what is one thing that is a necessary evil in making it?

It's a doily in a whitework technique (my gran's favourite) but with a dragon. This type of embroidery has quite a traditional look and I'm determined to find ways to make it look untraditional. Last year I already made this and lately @onthewaytosomewhere's dragon craze made me think of dragon napkin.
I'm so hyped that I already envision a whole pattern book with spooky/nerdyy richelieu ideas, but that's a project for a decade or so.

Currently I'm making first composition sketches and gathering inspiration.
One thing I already decided is the shape of the rim - like above, but I with one extra lacey part!

I actually don't like drawing patterns.
The fun part is embroidering and while I can find some ready patterns that are nice enough, making something of my own idea is super satisfying. And, come on, dragon doily.
Things are pretty hard now at home (a problem as it is), and because of it I'm working remotely for the forseeable future so I can't use office's printer. It is not perfect when I want the pattern to be nice and even.
I'm tagging @onthewaytosomewhere (again) @tailsbeth-writes @run-for-chamo-miles @14carrotghoul
