Dagon Drones

This was my addition to a magma board by @/natzarama on twitter! had the theme of fantasy so i finally pulled out an AU I have been sitting on :]

AU ramble:

Uzi always wanted to be a knight. she made her own sword, being the daughter of a blacksmith. The same blacksmith who build the gates keeping there town safe.

In order to enchant her sword, to gain the power to slay the 3 dragons who have been plaguing her village, she must venture into there layer and find a green gem. As she does she finally ‘kills’ her first dragon N. Although this dragon doesn't stay died Uzi befriends it.

Over time Uzi builds her own armor yet a curse befalls her. One day when going out with an adventure party her body starts to shift. this unknown curse turning her into a dragon herself! ( aka cabin fever episode)

That's kinda what i loosely have for now :] I've been to busy working on the reverse au and writing my human au, so this lil dragon drones au just kinda fell to the wayside.

looks like the monstrous nightmare drone is *finally* being flown over berk for general guests! that is, when the weather is favorable

Universal Creative team testing Monstrous Nightmare drone

some stills from episode two, “The Handoff” of the docuseries Epic Ride.

at this point in time, the drone was still being tested intensively. the team realized that it likely wouldn’t be ready to go on opening day, due to its unpredictably in windy weather.

because of the drone’s unique shape, it was a struggle getting it to take flight reliably: “we have wings that go off 10 feet, five feet in each direction and then we have head, neck, tail, all moving at the same time” —Alec DiLiello, associate engineer of Ride and Show.

Universal Theme Parks: The Exhibition

…opens this weekend! starting February 14th and running until September 7th 2026, this unique exhibition will be located at the Franklin Institute in Pennsylvania.

Attractions Magazine shared this first look at the dragon drone prototype that will be on display:

the exhibition will feature never-before-seen concept art, props, and other behind the scenes insights.

previous concept art has already shown that plenty of Isle of Berk content will be shown:

will probably delete this once i get a higher res screenshot and/or recording, but the “Inside the Worlds of Epic Universe” special that just finished airing tonight on NBC gave us a great look at Hookfang!

i’m trying to find the special online so that i can upload a better quality image. it’s probably the best look yet, and may be one of the few times they’ve used the drone (unless this specific shot was taken from the Helios grand opening)!

Epic Ride: The Story of Universal premieres September 29th!

this special will have TONS of behind the scenes information and footage from isle of berk! just from the brief trailer released today we can see a bit of the hookfang drone:

i can’t wait to see the rest! universal creative always goes above and beyond (as we have seen) and it’s going to be really amazing to see the process behind building such amazing attractions and immersive worlds.

Dragon Drone + Venjin Doodle!

Gone through a bit of art block lately, so I decided to just mess around with an old method of mine and created these two! Below are the speedpaint files too :)
