Concept art for RNBW!

When Rusty first meets ChengLong, it's the first time the leader of Team RNBW matches up against someone bigger than her. ChengLong very easily demolishes the young Huntress with heavy and precise blows, without even having to use her weapon or her Semblance!

I wanted this scene to be quite reminiscent of the part of Infinity War where Thanos tactically beats down the Hulk. And the drawings themselves used panels from the PuriPuri Prisoner Vs DeepSea King fight in One Punch Man as reference!

Another old piece I started a while back, a RWBY OC! Her name is Pistachio, nickname ‘Chio’, and she’s a dragon faunus because I can. I need to do some proper art of her semblance at some point, but she can blow on a dust crystal (or her dust crystal tongue piercings, or dust-infused lipsticks/glosses), and depending on the element of the dust, she’ll be able to ‘breathe’ fire / electricity / ice, etc. Her weapon is something of a staff / spear that has a hollowed out section she can settle a dust crystal into kind of like a bubble blower.

Finally in digital color- the main villain of RNBW: Xia ChengLong (pronounced “Sia Chung Loang”)

(Xia is her last name, because that’s how Chinese works. Could you imagine if anyone at RT was dumb and careless enough to give a character a one-syllable first name and two-syllable surname? Or even worse, two syllables for both? Man, that would be embarra-sing, especially if that character was a main protagonist with no Chinese affiliation whatsoever!)

I know it’s a bit cheesy to make a Dragon Faunus OC have two animal traits because of how “special” they are, but it’d feel wrong to not honor the dragon of the zodiac like that.

ChengLong was a Faunus general in a massive civil war that took place in Remnant thousands of years ago, specifically in the era before Ozma was reincarnated the first time. Through cryogenic statis, she has now re-awakened in the modern day to rejoin the pro-Faunus movement, now the White Fang, and to fully dismantle the human government of Remnant.

Name origin: “Xia” comes from the first recorded Chinese dynasty, and it coincidentally means “Summer” too! “ChengLong” is just Jackie Chan’s Chinese name- it “Long” means “Dragon” and “Cheng” is homonymous with the Chinese word for orange too!

Height: 8ft Tall

Gender: Female

Influence: The dragon of the Chinese Zodiac

Personality: Despite having an intense hatred of humans for razing her village in her youth, she still has enough compassion to want to minimalize civilian and Faunus deaths as much as possible. She feels a sort of sadness in the fact that so many modern Faunus have accepted the status quo of human privilege.

Weapon: She wields a meteorite blade that amplifies her flame semblance. When swung, it generates a delayed yet immensely powerful slash over long distances.

Semblance: Thermokinesis. She has full control of temperature and flame, able to shoot powerful jets of flame, manifest fireballs in thin air, superheat metal into liquid, increase the temperature of an area, and even absorb the temperature out her surroundings to a freezing cold level.

Concept sketches from last night of my upcoming RWBY OC, Pistachio “Chio”! She’s a dragon faunus who’s semblance is something along the lines of “Dust breath”. She can breathe on dust and ‘activate’ it, making it seem like she’s blowing fire / ice / electricity, etc. And she’s learning how to infuse dust in her lipsticks, and has dust crystal tongue piercings for casual wear because it’s fun.

just some ramblings about dragon faunus aus

i kinda like the idea that dragon faunus are so rare because they were hunted down. in africa they hunt down albinos to take their organs for medicinal purposes.

the idea of ren being a horned dragon faunus kinda interested me, with the horns being an important part of their aura and semblance

and even blake mentioning “questionable labor” in the mines made me wanna be a fuck and make dragon faunus used as labor for these dust mines and their horns harvested

also would explain ren’s lack of parents in my au

terrified child who files down his horns, but runs the risk of cutting to the quick and is weakening himself, since he cant let his horns grow

and no one cares about the dragon faunus since they were all high and mighty during the war, and most were killed for the terrible crimes they committed, believing they were above all faunus and humans

im sure theres racism even among faunus, since in the show we’ve seen regular racism

just the idea of dragon faunus being lower than regular faunus for the deeds of their ancestors is kinda cool to me

and other faunus, not even horned ones being discriminated against
