Failed Military

Jaune: Okay guys, we need an airship to get to Oscar, we just need find one here, in the Atlas base.

Yang: Let’s charge in and find it.

Jaune: Or we could-

Ren: Jaune, you know how this will end.

Jaune: Fine.

Yang, Jaune, and Ren bust down the doors only to find five Atlassian guards in front of them.

Solider #1: It’s them! Call for back up.

Solider#2: Why? Look at them. That blonde guy has a sword and shield and him and his team can barely do anything.

Soldier#3: Yeah, those two guys are completely useless compare to that red head.

All soldiers: *laughs*

Jaune and Ren sliced two of the soldiers heads off, surprising Yang. The remaining soldiers were in shocked as the two boys stand menacingly towards them.

Jaune: Alright then. Lets turn off the mercy factor. Ready Ren?

Ren: Anytime.

Ironwood office

Ironwood and the Ace-ops are trying figure what to do with Qrow until they get an emergency call.

Soldier#4: General!! General, come in! Sir!

Ironwood: What’s the situation?

Soldier#4: We need help!! Jaune Arc, Lie Ren and Yang Xiolong have enter our facility!

Vine: Okay, I can understand Ms. Xiolong, but-

Elm: Jaune Arc and Lie Ren? I think your over exaggerating.

Solider#4: They killed just about thirty of us! Send! Help!

Vine: Just shoot them down!

Soldier#4: We did! Except, Jaune Arc, has a dumb amount of aura protecting him and a shield, that sends gravity waves to blow any army sky high.

Jaune: Oh giving my shield gets credibility now, huh?

Soldier#4: Oh my god no! *stabbed*

Ironwood: Hello. Hello! Respond!

Soldier#3: Sir, we need back up! Lie Ren, somehow is a fine marks man who shooting and slicing us down.

Ironwood: Wait, if Mr. Arc and Mr. Ren are fighting then what Ms. Xiolong doing?

Soldier#3: Walking sexy and like a boss!

Ironwood: What!?

Soldier#3: Don’t believe me!? See for yourselves!

Ironwood and the Ace op, using multiple screen, where cameras were positioned, they saw everything the soldier said was true. Yang was just walking like model with a smile on her face. And every time a soldier tried to attack her, Jaune or Ren would defend her by cutting or shooting them down. Jaune for some reason knows hand to hand combat and start punching, kicking and bodying most of the soldiers down. Ren not only did the same but when ran out of ammo, he simply took one of their guns and fires back.

Yang: *manacle laughs* Come on, I’m not even lifting a finger, yet everyone falling like flies.

Ironwood saw enough and turn them off.

Soldier#3: Sir, what are your orders!?

Ironwood and Ace ops stayed silent.

Soldier#3: Sir!? Anybody!? Somebody help!*stabbed by Jaune* Gah!

Ironwood then turns off communications.

Marrow: Umm sir?

Ironwood: We have armor of highly trained soldiers. We have robots. Yet none of them can seem to handle a few kids. Even one with just a shield and sword in hand.

Harriet: What should we do sir?

Ironwood: What should you do? You all were defeated by team RWBY! Hell, if I put Elm in a room with Jaune, my bets he’ll slam her to the ground.

Elm: *feel shamed and offended*

Vine: Sir, we all do respect, but I can handle Jau-

Ironwood: Lie Ren has guns he can use as grabbling guns.

Marrow: I can-

Ironwood: Your semblance only works when you can see your enemies.

Harriet: I can-

Ironwood: Ruby is Yang’s sister.

All the ace ops are sad.

Ironwood: We’re fucked. *laughs* We are so fucked.

Team RWPBN were also listening and saw the video.

Nora: Yeah, they shouldn’t have insulted them.

Penny: Why take it personal though?

Nora: Penny, you try losing a teammate, parents, having to be wanted criminal and secondary character to this show but barely get shit.

Penny: Oh. That’s understandable. I know.

Weiss: Why can’t I have that?

Ruby: Weiss, Yang is laughing while people die around her.

Weiss: So. I would feel like a queen too if I didn’t have to lift a finger to smite my enemies.

Blake: *terrified yet turned on*

God though, the sheer tonal whiplash between the two groups here.

JOYRide is trying to save the people Ironwood has already given up on. They’re running through a city that’s been under siege for hours already, half their party is going through a crisis of identity, and none of them are getting time to rest.

Meanwhile, RNBWPM (I will find an acronym I swear it) is talking about their plan to reunite the world, the kids get to run a stealth mission alongside a brilliant snarky woman with an invisibility semblance, and they’re basically using a reverse slide to get there.

I’m not saying there isn’t good and bad stuff going on for both groups. I’m not ignoring Penny’s own identity crisis (although I will say that Ruby’s support is definitely helping). But half of them are on a mission and the other half are just trying to stall the invasion and save lives wherever they can.

Plus, that party just watched an Eldritch abomination beat up and kidnap a member of their party.
