I went to Harry Potter world today! I went into Ollivander's and the clerk there helped me to find a wand--but really the wand chose me 😌 My wand is made of hornbeam wood with a dragon heartstring core, 13 in, and reasonably pliant. I love it!!! I got my robes today as well, and now I'm all ready for classes.
A Thousand Words: I’ll create a photoset/gifset that, IMO, sums up the main themes/concepts I intended for Dragon Heartstring :)
Thanks for asking! 💛 Here we have a moodboard and a quote from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (because when there’s an excuse to quote BtVS, you quote BtVS)
Dragon Heartstring (Or, How Charlie Weasley Got A New Wand)
“You thought you were all special… and the minute you found out you weren’t, you handed the crown without a moment’s pause.
They'll never know how tough it is to be the one who isn't chosen... But I know.
I see more than anybody realizes because nobody's watching me. I saw you… I see you... You're not special. You're extraordinary.”

Hi! I would like to ask for wand analyze:
Elm wood, dragon hearstring, 12½, rigid
Also I am from slytherin, my patronus is buzzard but pottermore quiz is not reliable and just random, so if you would like to suggest patronus for me it would be nice :> but you totally don't have to
elm, dragon hearstring, 12½" and rigid
wand #4
(requested by @misfortvne)
as always, we will start by analyzing the core of this wand. dragon heartstring is an extremely temperamental, powerful, core. it is, easily turned toward the dark arts, but will never go there without prompting from its owner.
elm, on the other hand, prefers elegance over the dragon heartstring's brute force. owners of elm wands are rather stoic, graceful and have a confident air to them. according to ollivander, elm 'prefer owners with presence, magical dexterity and a certain native dignity.' it is also known to produce the least magical errors and accidents and is capable of very highly advanced magic. because of this, there is a myth of elm only favouring those of the purest blood, but that is again, only a myth. in fact, elm is associated with a number of myths. in celtic mythology, elm is associated with the underworld and has a connection to burial grounds. in norse mythology, the first woman is made from elm, while the first man is made from ash. in japanese mythology, the first chief goddess was birthed by an elm tree. in the realm of politics, elm is associated with revolution and freedom. it started in 1188, when an elm tree was cut to symbolize a disagreement between the king of france and the king of england. during the american revolution, the 'liberty tree', an elm, was planted in boston to signify the americans' rebellion.
as we can see, elm is a rather complicated wood with a lot of connotations. it appears rather mighty, but is gentle, with a lot of sentiments attached to it, and it is my opinion that the owner of a wand with such a wood is similar in nature. elm coupled with a dragon heartstring core would make for a seemingly aloof, graceful owner, whose heart is much softer and yet, fiercer, than it seems. (it was such a slytherin sentiment, i had to check if you'd mentioned your house to see if i was right!)
the wand's flexibility being rigid suggests that the owner has a strict set of morals. they are set in their ways and are rather strong-willed, which can be helpful with setting boundaries and standing up for themselves or others. it can also be detrimental, however, if it turns out that they are wrong about/for something.
this wand being 12½ inches is not very surprising, as the above suggests a well-rounded and balanced character. overall, this wand indicates that its owner is one who appears very poised and graceful, has a heart of gold and will not hesitate to fight if something goes against their morals.

now, for a patronus suggestion... i cannot guarantee that this will be a perfect fit, as it is infinitesimally easier to have the answer and explain it than have the explanation and search for the answer. however, once i thought about it, there was one animal that stuck out for me.
(granted, i am not an animal nerd—patronus analyses are as far as i get in that regard—and for all i know there's something out there that fits much better.)
the patronus i would suggest for you, is a swan. when i tried to think up an animal that is unmatched in its grace, the swan is what came to my mind. they are the epitome of poise, and yet, when they feel like they, or their young, are threatened, they will attack. they are more aggressive in geese, in this way, and while they do not actually pose any threat, it cannot be said that this method is not effective.
thanks for the request! i fell into a really long rabbit hole once i saw how many things elm related to lol
HP Personalized Moodboard Request: My nickname is Kay. I'm a Slytherin/Wampus witch. I wield a chestnut wand with a dragon heartstring core, 12.5 inches & brittle flexibility. My Patronus is a dragon. Favorite classes include Care of Magical Creatures, Flying, & DADA. Favorite colors are red & black.
Thank you for your request and patience! I'm sorry it took me awhile to make. I hope you love it ❤️
i want to know what the fuck is up with harry potter wand cores. supposedly you have these three rare ingredients and yet every wand ollivander makes includes them?? that’s thousands of wands a year if not tens of thousands!!!
AND DRAGON HEARTSTRING specifically HOW are you getting the HEARTSTRING of a dragon??? like is it secretly a plant? is it something dragons make? cuz otherwise, if it actually is part of their heat then HOW haven’t they gone extinct ??
and the phoenix feather too!!! WHO has a phoenix when enough feathers?? they’re supposedly so rare that fawkes makes dumbledore special???
like unicorns MAYBE you can get to trust you and switch herds + gather their shedded hairs too but the other two??? NO WAY
i have so many questions
Hii! Could I ask for an analysis of an Apple wood wand with a deep sea dragon heartstring core(one of @/wandmore 's cores), 10 1/4" and quite bendy flexibility please? If not I totally understand. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this!
Bit interesting this wand. Deep Sea Dragon heartstrings are rarely seen, mainly because it is difficult to safely obtain useable heartstrings. It is still a powerful core that works well at sea, and is excellent for water based magic. Apple likes idealistic and charismatic mages. The length suggests a very focused mind, but the length counters that to a fair degree. Perhaps this flexibility suggest an extremely variable and adaptable approach to life.
Of course this uses a core from @wandmore. They may have a different approach and different reading. In that case I would defer to their expertise.
Lily Luna Potter
Cherry wood with a dragon heartstring, 14", surprisingly swishy
"This very rare wand wood creates a wand of strange power, most highly prized by the wizarding students of the school of Mahoutokoro in Japan, where those who own cherry wands have special prestige. The Western wand-purchaser should dispel from their minds any notion that the pink blossom of the living tree makes for a frivolous or merely ornamental wand, for cherry wood often makes a wand that possesses truly lethal power, whatever the core, but if teamed with dragon heartstring, the wand ought never to be teamed with a wizard without exceptional self-control and strength of mind." - wizardingworld.com
Just like the wand who chose her, its owner was equal parts pretty and deadly, as skilled in cartomancy and charms as she was dangerous on the battlefield. Whenever Sybill Trelawney used her tarot set to make a prediction for her favourite student, Lily would always appear to her as the vivacious and hot-tempered woman, the Queen of Wands.
Mr. Ollivander liked to keep an eye on the clients who were chosen by particularly rare and interesting wands - such was the case of Harry Potter's youngest daughter, Lily. Knowing the wand's characteristics, it didn't come as a surprise to him when Hogwarts Professor Filius Flitwick, himself an exceptional duelist, praised her as a prodigy, or when he heard that at the age of just nineteen, she was already shaping up to be one of the best Curse Breakers at Gringotts.
