I went to Harry Potter world today! I went into Ollivander's and the clerk there helped me to find a wand--but really the wand chose me 😌 My wand is made of hornbeam wood with a dragon heartstring core, 13 in, and reasonably pliant. I love it!!! I got my robes today as well, and now I'm all ready for classes.

horned serpents are scholars, right? but most of them are actually gifted burnout kids that still get great grades because they can hack the tests and guess well. always up for a coffee date or movie night, will spend it infodumping on their current hyperfixation.

pukwudgies are typically healers, so they have to study hard if they want to be a good healer (empathy and emotional intuition only gets you do far). they are epitome of average student that does amazing because they have, like, study schedules and fifteen highlighters and shit. party hard but they all know great hangover cures.

thunderbirds are the daydreaming creatives that switch their styles and/or career paths every three months. walk around campus with paint on their shirts and glitter on their faces from the night before. probably a liberal arts major, attends social justice rallies.

wampus kids are jocks, but like, really weirdly cool big sibling jocks who carry around protein bars and remind you to hydrate during exam week. have a bunch of friends from all over and ask them to work out with them (they never say ‘yes’ for some reason?)

We are the Slytherins, the snakes. The ones who keep surviving because no matter what happens we shed our skin and we start over. We’ve been through many battles but we choose not to show it, we may play innocent or even arrogant because showing you our scars means that we are vulnerable. And this is one of the things that we hate. Vulnerability. We walk in our new skin and you can swear we are royal because this is what we want you to see.

Us, Slytherins, want to be the best and when we can’t, at least we have to look like we have everything under control, like we are still going to win. Because we would rather have you thinking that we are heartless bitches running for the crown, than the damaged and broken people that we actually are.
