revisited Nonvul after rereading GOL HAH DOV (@99corentine's lovely skyrim fanfic, for those uninitiated. you should initiate. find it here)
TES:Skyrim Headcanons
The dragons are varying sizes, with Alduin as the largest—much bigger than he appears in game. Paarthurnax is the second largest. Durnehviir is the next largest named dragon (in game), but when he comes back to Nirn, he is considerably lighter due to his rotted form. Odahviing is on the smaller side of the more powerful dragons, but is much more sleek and agile than his brethren.
Similar to how Nahkriin is a Dragon Priest to Alduin and presides over Skuldafn, Morokei presides over Labryrinthian/Bromjunaar (this is canon). We don’t know what Dragon he directly served under, but I like to believe it’s Durnehviir. Firstly, Morokei’s epithet ‘the Deathless’ is close to Durnehviir’s name, but even if Durnehviir used to have a different name (extremely likely, given how perfectly his name describes his current situation), we know they both possessed some sort of obsession with immortality, or preventing their own demise, at least. Additionally, I personally associate Morokei as the most magically adept Dragon Priest (besides Ahzidal and Miraak) because of his possession of the Staff of Magnus, and the fact that he could only be killed by a Dragon. Similarly, Durnehviir’s dabbling with necromancy places him a bit more in the ‘mage’ category than the other Dragons. Additionally, I like the idea of Krosis being Paarthurnax’s Dragon Priest (not my idea), and perhaps Rahgot as Odahviing’s (based on vibes).
Skyrim fumbled Vahlok the Jailor so bad.
Hes the Dragon Priest who defeated Miraak in the first place.
Their battle was so great that they Kyoshi'd Solstheim from the mainland.
He swore to watch for and guard against Miraak for all eternity.
He was a wise and capable leader of Solstheim. His people became the ancestors of the Skaal.
He is the only Dragon Priest without a mask.
And....hes a regular Dragon Priest fight.
Come on! Imagine the Skaal asking you to awaken Vahlok from his tomb to help you against Miraak. A Dragon Priest ally who even though hes loyal to the dragons, is nonetheless a good person and does his best to aid Solstheim.
a couple of dragon priest masks i made up for my fic
they are onikaan and fahluaan, originally worn by sister dragon priests :)
New OC drop 🗣
What's this? And actual character sheet for a new OC? It's more likely than you think (I really should make proper sheets for the others...)
This is Qolaas, my Snow elf dragon priest! They were born of an idea that wouldn't leave me alone until I gave in and started writing the fic, as all good OCs are born. They are my answer to the question 'hey, what if a second Dovahkiin appeared in the same era as Miraak? Wouldn't that be neat?'
No promises on when the actual fic will be out- I'm currently fighting back some rather ambitious ideas, and still need to write the next chapter of Vokiin Filok besides 🥲
I'm aware the main text is a little tricky, so here it is below:
Ancient Falmer/ Snow Elf
~28 years old
Non-binary, they/them
Priest name 'Qolaas' means 'Harbinger' or 'Herald'
Second Dragonborn, born shortly after Miraak
Came to the dragon cult at a young age, doesn't really remember their life before
Was named 'Zidael' before they took their priest mask
Serves under 3 dragons: Sotkrahzaan, Voslaarum and Naaslaarum
Doesn't have their own temple; instead travels a lot as a sort of missionary/enforcer
Feel free to ask any questions about this odd pale creature that's been haunting me!
Which sounds better for a ship name?
Wind Chimes
Lost Winds
Other? Comment below what you think it should be.
This is for my OCs,
Niraak, who is Miraak's twin brother, and also a Hermaeus Mora worshipper as well. Niraak roughly translated to No-guidance in The Dragon Language.
and
Eugenia Alexandra Ronec(AKA Alex), her Dragon Priest name is Odkrahven(It translates to Snow-Cold-Wind/Current in The Dragon Language). Alex is a Hermaeus Mora and Mephala worshipper(Tho I might be adding Ithelia to that list as well).
This is sorta of an AUish? ship? It's a uh... complicated relationship lol. In an AU timline, they are married and have children, but not in the main timeline. In the main timeline, it's more like friends-lovers-to one sided enemies?-back to lovers type of thing.
Anyways, I just need a ship name for them tho. Tryin to flesh out their relationship more as well.
