Writing a poem based on part of a tarot reading: good semi-haunting idea

Reading it aloud so I can hear its flow: good idea is good

Recording it so I can hear it without concentrating on speaking: BEST IDEA EVER BEST THING I'VE EVER WRITTEN THAT SOUNDS SO GOOD WHEN HEARD MY POEMS NEVER FLOW LIKE THIS WHEN SPOKEN ;~~;

I've noticed trends in my writing

I prefer my main character to be left handed (even if not specified, it's that way because I say it is)

My main character loves Coca-Cola and will be "seen" drinking a Coke at least once in a longer piece if plausible to the universe

It's always a female 

She's always an only child

Dragonis' poetry for Writing Poetry pt.3

WHITESPACE IS IMPORTANT and it's supposed go from a fast mental process of being awake to a slower one of tiredness and then none at all.

  Pillow

  you hold my head and let me dream.

Soft and squishy memory foam please continue to hold me at night. No matter what happens during the day and who I’m with it is always you who properly greets me in silence when all is said and done.

You allow me to find comfort and leave behind all of my stresses of the day. You are the gateway into other worlds where I can shoot people with foam balls and fly into the clouds. You give me a sense of acceptance now and forever for when the first yawn appears

                  sleeping.

Dragonis' poems from Writing Poetry pt. 2

Soooo I can't actually use this revision because I only made two minor changes. ENJOY ANYWAY. Also, I find the first stanza to be hilarious.

Rolling Ocean

Every ocean has a flow. It comes and it goes. With rage and calm the inner tides will turn.

Rolling waves, rolling thoughts, just to take them away and replace them with something new.

Blank white clouds come to hide the evidence, of thoughts that I have lost to the open and endless blue sky.

Rolling waves, rolling thoughts. The ocean calls them forth and the wind takes them away.

Maybe it's just that one poem that I like. A lot.

Dragonis' poems from her Writing Poetry class pt.1

(to anyone who can accurately tell me wtf is going on, I'll give them a virtual cookie)

Grandmother’s Laundry Room

  Every weekend I’d go visit my dear grandmother. Take a peek in her home and make sure there were no other visitors.

At first silence greets me. Then I hear the crooked old voice of Grandmother.

I’d follow the voice to the back of the house. The smell of old, dirty laundry catches at the back of my throat.

The room is empty save for the clean white powder and the old red wine stains. But let’s not forget Grandmother’s dog food.

Alright, since I feel like sharing my awesome love for my own poetry, the ones I decide not to revise (and I need only revise four) will be posted here for shits and giggles.

and I feel like I'm not live-blogging my efforts at writing this paper. I'm almost half-way and all the frustrations of not meeting my word count requirement's pissing me off.
