The hard life of protecting your kids.
Sometimes life is hard and parenting is hard. Sometimes your kids do something at the age of 8 that could come back to haunt them later in life and you have absolutely no control over it. It was an innocent and normal act for an 8 year old without them knowing the real consequences. I try to keep things in perspective with “it could be worse” but that doesn’t work all the time. It was a hard and draining weekend that made me want to pack up all my stuff and move to a different country but that is just running away. There is no way to fix this except to hold our heads high and move on - no matter how hard those steps are to take.
