You’ll have to excuse her, she hasn’t actually run into a vampire in the daylight before, even if she’s heard of him through the Bane-Lightwood grapevine.
Related, she mostly smells them and gets a sense of revulsion or irritation. She does not, generally, feel distressed about them. Or like anxiety has gone contagious and airborne. Honestly he’s put her off lunch.
“Dae ye always look like yer about tae shake apart down tae th' molecules or is that some sort o' vampire vitamin D overdose?”

He’s not sure what wisdom he’s supposed to be imparting here-- tips on not eating your friends and family? Top ten ways to ignore a constant and terrible hunger? How to get blood out of (nearly) any fabric? Actually, he’s got a really good potion for that
Magnus just told him to keep an eye on Simon and make sure he didn’t get into any trouble tonight. ( there is a sneaking suspicion that the vamp in question might have received the same instructions about him, if the uptick in nervous chatter every time Rod so much as glances at the door is any indication )
“So-- blood, huh?” Yeah, that’s a real regular topic of conversation “Any kind, or do you have...specifics?” Preferences? Dietary needs? Help him out here.

“Oh, come on. Tell me about the Star Wars again, just one more time --”
Honestly -- she hoped to god he never figured out that she’d actually seen the movies. She shouldn’t tease, she knew that, but there was something endearing about winding him up. And frankly, it was a nice change of pace, conversationally speaking.

This is your fault. All of it.
Another voice added to the constant mantra that plagues him day and night.
Jace’s grief and guilt are a serrated knife in the rune on his side; an unending back and forth between the two that makes him feel split open. His hand keeps instinctively adding pressure, like it’s trying to keep his insides from spilling out.
And the void of Magnus’ absence in his ribcage is an echo of his screams when Alec let him go to Edom in the first place. His lungs never taking enough air to keep him from feeling like he’s drowning.
“...You’re right.” It’s my fault. All of it. “You’re right.”
So. Did you like--you know, ever experiment?
He’s not going to jump the gun and assume he knows what Simon is talking about; he’s known the kid long enough to know it could very well be anything. (Even if the urge to say ‘no, never’ is stronger now than it’s ever been).
“.................--with?”

Tell the muse to come back to bed.
