Quinn Fabray is Daddy's little girl and the perfect Christian. She CAN'T be gay. But then her friendship with Rachel Berry starts to change… Originally from a prompt on the rq meme at LJ.
AHHH I LOVED THIS!! It was just soooo juicy the whole time. I couldn’t put it down. It was just a really good, well-written story. I loved it!
Chapter and Verse by Dramatricks: Quinn reflects on her faith and on her love for Rachel, and whether she has to give up one for the other. - Rated: Fiction M - English - Hurt/Comfort/Angst - Quinn F., Rachel B. - Words: 1,375 - Status: Complete - this is a really beautiful fic and as always I made 3 versions because I'm trash and wanted options and couldn't decided which one I liked more
Speaking of Faberry and spirituality, this is one of my favorite short fics about Faberry and Quinn's relationship with God. Check it out. It's only 1300 words.
Summary: AU. When Quinn meets Rachel Berry at college in New York, sparks fly. But Quinn has a secret, a secret that could hurt Rachel and destroy the life Quinn has worked so hard to preserve. Side Brittana.
Dramatricks has been a household name within Faberry fandom since very early on in the run of the series and we were lucky enough to catch up with her for an author's printerview.
Hello!
Hi! Thanks for letting me participate, this is great.
Did you write for other fandoms before Glee? Do you write anything other than Faberry within the Glee fandom?
I've written for BTVS, Wicked, and RPF. Within the Glee fandom I've written Faberrittana, and Pezberry.
What work of your own is closest to your heart?
Silence of a Kiss. It will always be, to me, the best fic I've ever written. It's close to my heart because I have the hearing disability that Rachel does in the fic.
What’s one of your favorite fics that isn’t your own?
Ferryberry's Better. It's such an angsty, hopeful, beautiful fic.
When you’re looking for a fic to read, what hooks you? Conversely, what’s something that immediately takes you out of a fic?
What hooks me is a good story, combined with good grammar and a good sense of character. Something that immediately takes me out of fic is horrible grammar.
Do you have any particular headcanon casting for any of your original characters?
I don't believe I've written any original characters, so at this point, no, I don't.
When writing Quinn and Rachel, does one of them tend to be easier for you to write? What about any canon characters outside of Faberry? Of the canon characters, is there anyone you love writing but rarely have a chance to work with in Faberry fics?
Quinn is the easiest for me to write. There's something about her canon brokenness, how very lost she seems, that I connect with easily. Beyond that, I haven't written many canon characters that aren't Quinn, Rachel, Santana, and Brittany. I'd love to write a fic where Sam and Quinn are brotps, though, I adore their "sibling" dynamic.
How much does the end product reflect the original concept? Has there ever been a moment in a story that you envisioned one way, but when you wrote it, the characters took you in a completely different direction?
I tend to have a good idea when I go into a fic of what I want. Every now and then the characters will take it in a slightly different direction, but overall the initial concept remains the same until the end of the fic.
Is there a scene or fic that was particularly difficult to write? On the reverse, is there anything that you thought would be more of a task to take on, but then it happened easily and organically?
Again, Silence of a Kiss, because it's the most personal. But as difficult as it was, it was also cathartic. I thought Like a Seal Upon Your Heart would be hard to write, but it turned out to be the easiest and most fun.
How much do feedback and reviews influence works in progress?
Mostly, as in the case of This Same Rain That Draws You Near Me, it makes me feel bad because it took me so long to update! That was the first WIP I posted, and it took me two years to finish. The reviews just helped motivate me to finish.
How important is title to you and does it have a lot of influence over the story? How do you choose titles?
Title is very important to me. The title's the first thing a reader sees, so it's important that it's a bit of a "hook." Some of my titles are song lyrics, others are created from a line in the story.
What’s a favorite Faberry fic trope that you can't resist including, despite its tropishness?
Woobie!Rachel. We Faberry writers love to throw anything and everything we can at Rachel.
Who’s your favorite Quinn?
Like a Seal Upon Your Heart Quinn. So sheltered, but so spunky at the end.
And, finally, to smut or not to smut?
Yes, please!
Any closing thoughts you'd like to disclose to your readers?
I'd just like to thank everybody for their reviews, feedback, for their loyalty and, of course, for reading. It means a lot. The Faberry fandom is absolutely amazing.
I think the parallels could be made. Consider punk!Quinn. She forgot herself. Belle has literally forgotten. Rachel tried to help Quinn remember, Ruby is doing the same. It's a stretch, but it's there.
