Yes I can! And thank you so much for your ask, for your support, and for your interest!!! At that time my investment in pieces was spread a little all over the place. I was trying to make up vastly different designs, finding methods rather than getting something done.

Wow, tbh my colour picks used to be so sad and muddy! My really scratchy method of painting mainly arose from this 2023 fanart I did of Prince Pola (very niche) from the currently on-going Zatch Bell 2 manga. I used to insist on having my backdrop be one colour before I then went in raw with a thin airbrush brush. The process was so tedious but also very relaxing at the time. But currently, I am too stressed for it. I would lose hair at an even greater rate if I tried painting like this again. I only have this old screenshot, think I've lost the file.

Going even further back, here's paints from 2022 I found! A bit embarrassing but why not. Traditional art is no longer my main mode of drawing, and that began when I in-painted photos of my sketches. I think younger me was trying to make characters with transgressive bodily imperfections, but imo it can't be really be transgressive when the heads of said characters remain neotenous as fuck! [slaps younger self]

I hope I can one day polish my non-fandom stuff enough. In the meantime, there are some drawing crops that you might like that I have attached in this post, as well as some wips in this project tag.

LOLL ok so the range of adaptations for Count Harebourg's full name is funny. In this case the middle name Astron means "celestial body", but his French one is Jacquemart Tocante de Harebourg (which would be more like Jacquemart Ticker of Backwards literally). There's old community Dofus forum posts that named him "Count Bagwards" in attempt to translate the pun but God its so fucking stupid they never went with it. Then there's "Gallifree Yan Harebourg" in the Krosmaster Frigost guide, which is a Dr. Who reference? iirc. In Portuguese his name is Joaquim Contade Traspafrent. It's funny to me because I have met 4 dudes named Joaquim in my life, the name is too normal. In Spanish - Sei Correa Justo Kontatrás - I have no idea where they got the Sei from? In German, his name is Siegmund Ruhebald Manfred-Erwerklug Primzahl. That one really stands out...

Ankama also recently did a French quiz liveshow where they asked people "True or False: Count Harebourg's real name is Jacquemart Tricante de Harebourg", a few letters off. A lot of the chat did not answer correctly.

Sorry for the tardy answer! Aaaaaahhhh! So it can resonate with someone so well! I'm glad! 'Surreal'... I find I make my art very soft and dynamic, and I like incorporating mute (softer) colours into saturated settings. It also helps I pretty much only use the square tool and the airbrush brush to paint... I hope you can feel my love for things I make fanart of.

About Malice Mizer, I didn't click with their music but I've been much more attentive about their branch of visual style (v-kei) which undeniably had effect on little me. At the same time, maybe I haven't given them the fairest shot. I'll go off-rail to talking more about my art. I used to lurk j-fashion forums a lot when I was a pre-teen so I've known about MM (especially Mana-sama) for a while!

My visits then drove me to stalk a lot of re-selling websites. I would be fantasising about what I would change in the clothing and co-ord. But I barely ever envisioned myself wearing them, it was always weird characters. The reduced second-hand prices made me feel better about doing so. It fed my visual library in a specific way. But i've never been more than a tourist to the subculture.

Here's some drafts of personal stuff. None of these characters are wearing existing clothes, I designed them myself (amateurishly.) I want to start posting OCs in batches to this blog one day. These characters aren't pre-"thought-out" as much as I just like designing things a lot. And it's not just these few dollfaces that are in my folder, far from it!

Of course Malice Mizer have a contained theme, but I think you can still sort of see my attraction to gothic j-fashion elements coalesce in these. I try to make novel, vibrant things, and honestly hats off to these fashion styles for making the traits of a lot of old western fashion considerable in the modern clothing discussion (to a younger me who found it more accessible).

Thanks for the ask! Originally, he is the main character from a short, VERY tasteless at times, South Korean webseries from 2001, called PUFF. Despite my disinterest with the rest of the show's cast, he felt very much like me with his thick eyebrows, small frame but tense appearance, and formal way of dress, and became my chosen method of self-depiction/my (shamelessly stolen) cat fursona for over half a decade now.

His name is Mr. Puff. He is a freelance detective and spy, overqualified and barely ever hired. I don't like drawing him grounded. Not doing so helps make him seem more fluid and twinkle-toed, I think. Because, I am twinkle-toed! :fairy:

The second one where oropo gets length mogged is killing me i actually have a post to make on Oropo's apparent xelor/harebourg vendetta but i need to finish the drawings. And dofusbourg not far from amalia thats no good. And harebourg looking at the viewer a little poignant. THESE VERY MUCH APPEAL TO ME THANK YOU SO MUCH PSYCHIC. Didn't get to reply to your ecaflip and cleophee last time. Very nice works and that Cleophee painting was looking reaal good. More harebullshit from me two.
