What do Drastoria do while they are out on a date? What was their first date like?
When Drastoria are in public they are always classy as hell. Like, they hold hands and might possibly go for an arm round the other, but you’d probably never even see them kiss in public, because that’s just not their style. They are both very private people and it’s when they are alone together that they really come into their own.
Their first date was one of the most nerve wracking experiences of Draco’s life, which is saying something. He’s half expecting her to cancel at the last minute, because there is just no way on Earth Astoria Greengrass actually wants to date him, is there? She must have just said yes out of pity; after all, she is an incredibly kind person. She’ll be polite enough to him tonight and then she’ll make an excuse and avoid him any time they cross paths again. He doesn’t deserve someone like her.
Little does he know that she’s just as nervous as him, because he finally plucked up the courage to ask her out! She was about to bite the bullet herself and do it, but she is really so glad that it came from him. Because she likes Draco, really likes him quite a lot. But he’s rather self-involved and has a lot to deal with right now. They go for dinner and within minutes of arriving, they both relax and realise their worries were unfounded. It’s perfect and wonderful and they make each other laugh and everything is just so much… easier. It’s the first of many dates but Draco isn’t any less nervous for at least the first ten.
As for what they do, they like to visit museums and galleries (both muggle and wizard) and Astoria got Draco hooked on the muggle ballet. One of their first dates was to Covent Garden where they went to see Coppelia and he was sort in awe that everything he’d just seen had happened without any magic at all. He introduced her to opera and it was amazing how something her parents had tried to force on her all her childhood suddenly seemed interesting when it was Draco taking her…
When Scorpius is born, they go out less for dates in the evening because they don’t like to leave him. So instead they do things in the daytime and bring Scorpius along. They live in Wiltshire, so the countryside is beautiful and perfect for walking. Draco casts mud-repelling charms on everything before they leave but once he’s learned to walk, somehow, Scorpius comes home covered in the stuff.
