Warlock Questions
Putting it under a cut, since it's lengthy
1.) Is your Warlock your main?
When I first started World of Warcraft in early Cataclysm, it was my main---highest level, first raiding character, first long-term RP character.
1a.) Feel free to tell me about them if you’d like. (Character, Roleplay, Time played, Raiding, whatever!)
He began as an Undead, but changed him to an Orc when I moved from Emerald Dream to Moon Guard for roleplay.
2.) What’s your primary spec? Why? Roleplay, raiding, PvP, questing. Elaborate.
Demonology, which was better for my leveling.
3.) Secondary spec? Why? (see above)
Affliction at first, since casting curses and diseases were core to the character. Then switched to Destruction, since the Green Fire questline was incredibly specific mechanics-wise and actually uses fire.
4.) Do you use a third spec frequently? Such as running out of raids to repec and the like or for roleplay reasons?
No.
5.) Tell me about your demons! Do you have any favorites? Any who’s names make you laugh? Which make you smile the most? Are you attached to any particular ones?
If I had to pick a Top 3, it would be Felhunter, Fel Imp and Abyssal. It sort of sucks that you can't keep the Felhunter when you pick Grimoire of Supremacy, but it was worth it for the others.
6.) What are some of your favorite spells? What makes you feel like a warlock when you use it? Is it the animations, spell effects, the way it plays, sound effects, what it does?
Favorite spell has to be Drain Soul, just because a Warlock feels most at home tearing the soul out of a helpless enemy.
7.) What are some of your least favorite spells? What makes you feel not like a warlock when you use it? Why? Is it the animations, the way it plays, sound effects, the babysitting of a buff or debuff?
Hellfire, because Rain of Fire does the same thing without slowly killing you. I'd rather have flaming rocks falling on my enemies than to have exploding feet.
8.) Did you complete the Green Fire quest? Did you get Of the Black Harvest? How did doing the quest make you feel? What was your take away from the lore of the quest and the fights?
Completed the Green Fire quest, but too late to get the title. It was incredibly annoying and unnecessarily difficult just to turn fire green and see a vague teaser for the Legion expansion, but it was worth it for roleplay effects.
9.) Do you play Demonology, or have you ever? If so in which expansions?
I always played Demonology to level warlock characters since Cataclysm.
10.) What is your take on current Demonology compared to Burning Crusade or Vanilla Demonology?
Wasn't there for those.
11.) If Demonology is one of your primary specs, what are you feelings about losing Metamorphosis? Feel free to expand on your emotions or lack thereof about the subject.
Personally thought that Metamorphosis was thirty seconds of pretty cool, but the cooldown and shortage of spells made me feel like losing it wasn't really a loss. If you could've stayed in Meta like a Druid Form, then it would've felt like a great loss.
12.) Will you be switching to a Demon Hunter in the expansion if they have the talents and spells you love?
Probably not.
13.) What sets do you feel are most Iconic for the Warlocks? Visually, color scheme wise, shape wise.
Voidheart, Gul'dan's Regalia (Horde-only WotLK), Dark Coven, Shadow Council
14.) How do you feel about the Warlock CM set looking so similar to the Demon Hunter Class Icon?
Kind of sucks for people who have grinded their way to get the challenge mode set to suddenly discover that an entire class will get the same stuff for free.
15.) Ignoring Demon Hunters, or soon the Demon Hunters, what do YOU feel is the identity of Warlocks in the game, visually, colors wise, set wise, talent wise up until this point? Do you feel like their class icon may need to be redesigned?
In the game, Warlocks were the chaotic-aligned class willingly harming and deforming themselves for sake of power or whatever ends they desired (for good or for evil). With Legion coming, Demon Hunters should be more distinct from Warlocks---not "Lock Tanks" or "Warlock-Monks"---and the icons should reflect that.
