art stuffs :|
I'm not expecting to get much traction/feedback on this, but here goes:
Has anyone started a sketchbook backwards? Starting in the back, and moving to the front as you draw? I'm hoping that if I draw something I like, I can trace it/refine it on the "next" page, and go from there.
One of the reasons I don't draw as much as I'd like (besides being a lazy asshole who gets distracted by video games and Tumblr and shit) is because I'm sloppy. My line quality is pretty terrible. Practice makes perfect (or something like it), I know, but when I finally nail a pose or composition that I really like... it's smudged to hell and back. I've tried using a lightboard to trace the elements I want onto a new piece of paper, but it's kind of a hassle when it's in my sketchbook - and then I'm stuck with some looseleaf that I might lose (or my "new" cat might decide to eat).
(My cat will bite the hell out of paper when she's not stealing my frozen custard.)
I could scan it and rework it, but that only works some of the time. It's much easier with the Surface Pro, but I'm still adjusting to drawing digitally.
I'm going to try this anyway, and maybe MAYBE look into making a custom sketchbook if I end up sticking with it, but I was hoping if anyone else tried it and could give me some feedback.
