Full sheets of my elements project (part 1 and part 2 here for readability) - the project was to take the 4 elements and create 4 pieces in a series with them, so mine took that idea along with poetry and relationships to create a crescendo/decrescendo < > kind of look. The skeleton was an easy way to keep the “main character” anonymous and able to be anyone, and could show a lot of the details I wanted.
(I wanted to use watercolor but I ran out of time, so it looks a bit unfinished, and I wanted to keep it the way it was when I turned it in.)
On a side note, I enjoyed the idea that my professor suggested that was taking this idea and turning it into a book! So in the book-ideas-box it goes!

An assignment for Drawing II! Our professor got a mannequin torso with a volleyball taped to its neck and put a sheet over it and a hat on it, and it was supposed to be a “ghost” for us to draw for Halloween! (The scarf-looking thing is a piece of tape to bundle the cloth closer to the neck.)
This was made in two class periods (~7 hours) with charcoal and chalk on gray paper~

3 part series done studying the Health and Human Sciences building and playing with light/shadow - drawing ii
3 part series (18x24") using imagery from Native American works by Troy Jackson, Randi Narcomey-Watson, Sarah Sense, Starr Hardridge, Karin Walkingstick, Benjamin Harjo Jr, Joseph Erb, Marcus Amerman, and Bill and Demos Glass. Their pieces are displayed at our university art museum right now, and so we spent a class studying and getting inspired, then turned our inspiration into a series.
I had a bit of trouble with the initial prompt of creating a personal motif so he allowed us to work with the pieces and combine them in interesting ways, which turned out great! Our stipulation was to have something thematically tying them together, hence the fabric and background similarities.
