OCtober day 5. "Secret"

Possible TW for mentions of serial killer

This one was a bit of a stretch, I'll admit.

The Maze was busy today. It was busy every day, but today was especially packed with people hurrying around to get supplies for the upcoming storm.

Trixie despised this place during the night. Too many people hiding in the crowds, waiting to snatch up precious materials.

Too many people lurking in the shadows between stalls, keeping a keen eye out for easy prey... too many people pushing and shoving past each other to get to their favorite stalls.

She much preferred sunset, where everyone was just waking up for the night, very few creatures besides the stall owners, eager to sell their wares, roamed the streets.

Unfortunately, by the looks of the storm clouds on the horizon, she didn't have that kind of time to wait. She needed to stock up before the storm hit so she could stay safe in her den until it passed, shielded from the lightning.

As she hurried past a mud building, her eyes landed on a paper. A wanted poster, specifically.

And, by the looks of it, an old one.

The poster depicted a sketch of the "Scorpion Assassin," an old serial killer that had disappeared shortly after Trixie had turned 16. Infamous for their brutal murders and quick escapes, no one knew how the assassin had escaped capture for so long.

Every time they were about to be caught, they would disappear, as if into thin air.

Several people assumed they had an accomplice, a partner... but how either of them managed to get away each and every time? No one would ever know.

It was one of the best kept secrets in the whole desert.

Hey everyone!

Since I pretty much only draw dragons, for a brief amount of time, I'm accepting drawing prompts! I'm doing this to step outside my comfort zone, and hopefully interact with my followers more.
