Welcome to my blog!

I'm Novast☆r (Nova for short and Acorn as a nickname), and I'm a MINOR (teen) obsessed with octonauts! So much so that I created a sideblog specifically for my ocs and octonauts stuff. I go by mainly she/it pronouns, but any are fine.

Became an Octonaut after they were found in a scrap pile Kwazii, Shellington, Peso, and Barnacles were cleaning

Tweak fixed her up and realized she was sentient. Now, Frog helps her build and fix gups

Favorite octonaut(s): Tweak, Inkling, and Bud

Least favorite octonaut(s): Kwazii and Paani (they keep breaking gups, which she and Tweak have to fix, or messing with her programming on accident)

Hey guys!

OK, so I know my moot @autistic-writer-angel has talked about this A LOT already, but I got an ask in my inbox that made me want to clear something up

There has been someone harassing Angel for a long while now, stealing her characters, work, and just generally being a huge pain. Their account is "cybermachinejunglejr" where they have been using Angel's work to create a version of their own WITHOUT HER CONSENT.

They have also been harassing me at times, at first for art of her characters that they planned to use and then for... honestly, I have no clue.

But on their account, they have what I believe is a copy pasted word-for-word description of Angel with MY ARTWORK.

If you look, it is the same art posted in Angel's description (it's old and kinda horrible, tbh, might make a new version). So no, I DID NOT WILLINGLY GIVE THIS PERSON ART.

This is not meant to be an aggressive post towards anyone except for the harasser. Please don't be mean about someone thinking I may have done this, because they were actually really polite and nice.

Anyways, here's the messages the person sent me (at least, the ones I have screenshoted). They're not aggressive or anything, just very persistent (yes, these are all from the same person. They spam create side blogs in order to bother me and Angel even after we block them)

(The last one is particularly funny to me bc for some parts of their story, they literally copied and pasted from Angel's work)

It's official. I've had everything I've written about Angel copied, pasted and posted.

It's upsetting me so much and this person doesn't even care! The only reason I haven't named names is because I know if I do, they'll just shut their account down and make a new one.

So, once again, I would just like to remind everyone that Angel Bingham is MY Octonauts OC! And even though I have never seen the show, they've crossed it over with Wild Kratts, so I kind of want the Wild Kratts fandom to be aware of this too.

I'm really sorry to have to bring this up again. I'm really not looking for drama (I tried to keep quiet about it at first), but I'm not looking for someone who's stealing my OC and plagiarising my writing to get away with it.

Once again, if anybody has any advice on what I can do to stop it, I would love to hear it. Blocking and reporting hasn't worked and neither does telling them to stop.

You know what?

You know analog horror right? Like The Backroom, The Mandala Catalogue, Angel Hare, Arcadia, and The Walten Files?

I would like there to be an Octonauts Analog Horror.

In the 80s/90s/early 2000s, the US Government decides to make a secret experiments to use human test subjects and turns them into animals to use them in organizations where it is impossible for humans to be.

For some test subjects, they’re willingly members of the government. But for the others, not so much…

For example: A young boy who dreams of becoming a doctor is kidnapped and experimented on, turning him into a penguin.

Ok, this is a long shot but it’s a cool idea and I want to see it.

Oooh! Neat Idea! Personally, I don't know too much about analog horror. I've heard of stuff like it, of course, but I don't know if I'd be any good at writing anything like it if that's what your hoping for

I generally don't often step out of my comfort zone in writing, which I should do more, but I'm also just not sure if I could accomplish what you're looking for right now. Plus, with school stuff and other WIP projects, I'm not sure I could take on another project.

I love the idea, though! Certainly sounds awesome!

My immediate thought is a game where you're a security guard in some sort of testing lab, viewing security footage of the different experiments (ig sorta fnaf style? Never really followed that game, though, so idk). Anyway, the experiments keep escaping one by one, and the whole game is a buildup of you getting more and more paranoid until you realize the experiments (octonauts) are actually peaceful and the real danger were your coworkers

(I'd ask the same question myself but since I wouldn't have a dedicated reply section idk if I should... though if someone did want to respond; would y'all like brown if he was canon? he could either be a actual octonaut or a octo agent)

I think Angel would be one of those characters I really love, but also get horrible second hand embarrassment from!

And I don't know if Brown would be my absolute favorite, but I can definitely see myself relating to him quite a bit

Due to some... recent drama going on with me and one of my moots, I will now block any blank blogs that interact with me moving forward.

I apologize in advance for any people who might unnecessary get caught up in this, but I'm honestly not in the headspace for dealing with this right now (if the moot in question sees this (not sure if you want to be mentioned or not so I'm keeping it anonymous), I have no clue how you deal with this regularly. Lol, this feels like something that would happen with Trixie! I don't know if I ever mentioned, but Trixie doesn't speak fluent English... or fluent any language, really. She speaks a hybrid between English and Arabic (which I don't know myself as will use Google translate for any Arabic, so it's definitely going to be wrong. Please don't kill me, ya'll-)

Anyways, Trixie often mixes up words or forgets them, making up new words instead (Orca= panda dolphin, volcano= lava mountain, etc). This embarrasses the hell out of Trixie, but the Octonauts find it amusing and are always willing to help her make out a word

Here's a fun story of malicious compliance to brighten your day:

Until recently, a few people in my office had these desk shades to combat the obnoxious fluorescent lights, which is very helpful for people (like me) with migraines or other light-sensitivity issues.

A few days ago, everyone who has them was told to take them down. Different people were given different reasons - It violates fire code (it doesn't) / It blocks line of sight (sort of?). Since this goes against the existing status quo, the union reps (my beloved) jumped on it. Someone jokingly suggested using umbrella hats instead, since hats are allowed in the dress code. Today, the union reps are passing out these ridiculous things in protest:
